New Clan Positions! Detailed!

Clan levels are a thing now! Changing my idea around this new update!
So, I've seen threads about new clan positions, and thought to myself "Hey, what a good idea!" So here I am bringing my idea to life! This will include new positions and modifications to old positions
Positive and neutral Positions

Leader- Leader would stay more or less the same. However, a leader can promote another person to leader, with a limit of two leaders per clan. Even though their ranks are the same, the original leader still has more power. The original leader has the power to demote or kick the second leader, while the second cannot demote or kick the original leader. Maybe add a small heading to the original leader so it is know s/he is the real deal.


coleader- only one change. The leader can set a limit for coleaders so one coleader won't go berserk and promote everyone. Only leaders can change the limit


Grand Elders- Grand elders are the missing link between elder and coleader. Grand Elders can promote to elder or Grand elder, demote or kick anyone under their rank, and send clan mail. They cannot do anything else. Grand elders can or cannot start a war depending on a setting determined by leader.


elder- stays the same


general- can only accept and invite members. A way to train someone to become elder


Cadet- Is exactly the same as a member, just the name is to tell everyone he or she is on the way to general.


member- stays the same.

Now, you may think I stop here. Nope. There are some new ranks BELOW member to punish members. These new ranks are added at level 5

On trial- name in progress. Serves as a warning to a member to stop doing something. When demoting someone to this rank, you send a message of what is wrong.


Prisoner- member cannot donate to anyone, and is kicked out of wars


Criminal- cannot donate or request. Basically an empty hollow shell that can talk


timebomb- cannot do anything but chat. Has a specified amount of time before kicked automatically. (Sort of a farewell)


Now here is another idea, inspired by mtommy2597. An add-on to ranks. Most add-ons can only be added to 'positive ranks' (special member and up) or neutral ranks (member), however there is one that is exclusively for the time bomb

War opt-out- this add-on can be only added by the member him/herself. If you want to opt out use this add-on to your rank. If a member has not gotten on in a week, than this member is automatically opted-out This is now a thing! Now, let us see if someone opted out in chat with that little clan war symbol in front of their rank.

custom- this name is just to show off. It can only be awarded by leaders. It only serves a name purpose, nothing more, nothing less. Let's say jimmy here wins a donation contest. Leader adds to his rank Doantor, so if jimmy is an elder he will now be a donator-elder. Unlocked when your clan gets to level 3.


*Timebomb variant- This will has added to people with the negative Timebomb rank. It will instead provide a task for the Timebomb (chosen by leader) for the Timebomb to do. If the Timebomb is to donate troops, donating will be opened for them. Leaders can filter a timebomb's donations so it doesn't spam giants. If the Timebomb reaches a number of donations provided by the leader, for example, 500, in the certain amount of time; they will be automatically promoted to anything member and under (clarified by leader)

*= Applies only to negative ranks
Now lots of people have said this is too complicated and @ragerrodent helped inspire this idea. A tutorial (can be revisited) of each clan rank. It would be a video showing what each rank does.

First entire new section of 2015! This is the clan settings.
Now, in the clan settings, the leader can customize ranks. For example, all members are now peasants, while the leader is an overlord. THis can also be done on an individual basis. Also here is a check off list of what elders, cos, and grand elders can and can't do. That last bit is only changed by the leader!

Now that I think about it, yes. But I think I'll make a special rank just for that called opt-out, which is an add-on to any 'positive' rank, including member.

Adding another rank. Also, might make another clan-chat related suggestion and put thigs relative to that post here :)

The only issue I have, is that with all the new ranks people might get confused if they all get implemented at the same time. Especially noobs who already have no clue how to play. Veterans can figure it out, but I just thought of a suggestion. Maybe certain ranks r available when a clan reaches a certain amount of people. That way noobs can have an easier time with managing their clan.

I like it, It's a good idea or I guess collections of ideas I think we should add it, though I do have one idea, I know that know all coleaders and leader can start war how about this, we have a new position called the General and he shall be a coleader but will be able to start wars meanwhile the other coleaders can not, you can have a max of 2 generals, so that will help a lot and limit some powers from coleader so not all can start war just the leaders trusted one or two and they will be called the general! And it will say general and not coleader as position.

I like that idea! Also, maybe, just maybe, a clan rank tutorial when you either a.) join a clan for the first time or b.) get on for the first time after the possible update if you are in a clan. I think I'd perfer the tutorial, but I'll think about it!

I generally prefer it when others do the raining on the parade, but since nobody has yet, I guess I'll step in. First, this is way too complicated. The current titles are supposed to be helpful and help clans run more smoothly, these would just be annoying and create conflict, the second major problem. Why people feel the need to know exactly who they're better than, I have no idea, but I know I would be mad if someone less deserving than I was higher on the totem pole.

Of all your new titles, "Special Member" is the most ridiculous, since it seems to exist only to tell all the normal members that they're not special. There are plenty of ways to recognize someone's accomplishments other than endless promotions: leaders should utilize them, not add a host of titles that won't improve anything.

I am a little bit confused by the punishment status, I mean due the to anonymous nature of this game, loyalty isn't that big a thing, so I don't really know if anyone would stick in a clan after being put in the punished status. And let's say for example someone were to do something that would annoy the leader/co-leaders/elders into punishing them, then I would say that they wouldn't really be worth keeping as members anyway. Just my thoughts on that.

Furthermore I think you have way too many higher level ranks, which don't really do add to the game too much. I think if you had statuses for specific situations like for example:

Trial period for new members
Probation Status:

• For new members to the clan, the leader can set the probation period and requirements (for example; time period, donations, donation : received ratio, trophy range) then if they pass probation they become a member if they don't pass they are automatically kicked out.

For Warring clans to visit each other
Prisoner of War / Spy:

• could be places reserved for warring clan members to visit each other, this only allows them to chat, they can't view the war map or even visit the clan member's village while they are there. They do however have access to the clan's war log (I think this would add to the chat so they can swap stories of various clans they have faced too).

Thats a lot of ranks for a clan of only 50 ppl :). It used to just be you have the leader, and then all the really special people are elders. Now we got co-leader which was probably needed, but this is a tad too much. I like the lower half a lot tho :)

clan leaders should also not have mail cool-downs... I'm the leader and trying to lead everyone. it's kind of hard when i have to wait 20 million years to send another message.

I think it'd be better to reduce it, because the cool down is there so leaders don't spam messages and overload the server. How long is it currently? 12 hours?

Yes it is 12 hours, but i have the same problem, i need to send more mail, or they need to up the limit that can be typed in 1 message, because it is just stupid, all you can say in clan mail is "Hi Everyone" (you cant even fit details about war, or details about what you want the clan to do) this is because of the character limit that is set.

get rid of character limit or give use a way less cool down time (1 hour cool down max!)

Okay, here is my three step idea. Step 1- Give mail more space to type. Step 2- Allow three pieces of mail to be sent before a cool down. Step three- reduce cool down to six hours.

They need to add this or a version of your idea immediately. I'm tired of people not attacking in wars and leaving us out to dry. Kills clan wars idea altogether.

It's funny but I like it the way it is. If SC wanted to change something I would hope it could be something more important than this.

Sure! But maybe negative ranks can have donating switched on/off

I really like the negative ranks. When someone in my clan does something i dont like, I want to punish them but not kick them.

And maybe another name for time bomb could be death row.

Just an idea.

I would change prisoner to not being able to request, seems a harsher punishment. Other than that, really good.

SC won't put ranks that reflect a negative image on a player, so those ranks in your OP will not be added.

I have better ideas though which i will post and i ve always wanted to punish people!:cool::cool:

I don't think we can have all of them but most are good. Here are the criticisms I have (assume I like the ones I don't dislike)
1. Grand Elders should not be able to send clan mail. I hesitate to promote a coleader in fear he/she will send a lot of spam/junk mail
2. Prisoner and Criminal should be combined into one
3. The time bomb variant is a bit to extreme
Otherwise good overall

Not bad! the only thing I would change would to narrow down all of the positions, it gets too confusing. Maybe a few less...

The second leader is like a queen to a king. The two rule side by side, but more often than not, one has power over the other. This could also be helpful in clans with split time zones. Thanks dude.

Lol, time mob, criminal ? If I have people in my clan that I need to reserve on a kick out list, I am going to kick them just because I would rather make sure to have space for contributing members.

as for an extra leader ? We have that, is called co leader. Maybe a space between elder and new member would be useful, like a probation member. However making 15 new titles doesn't help my clan become better. Just makes it silly to try not to get that criminal title!

Good job, you took an idea from my thread and pretended it was yours! And it is more of a discipline, or just to humor you while you wait for a member to get kicked out. Also the time bomb could be set so it only kicks if they don't come on, like an automatic inactivity kick (set by leaders) And the two leaders rule side by side, co leaders are currently under leaders.

Great thread but I have 3 problems:

1. A possible name change on some ranks. Grand Elder sounds a bit self-absorbed and General seems bland and sounds like he should outrank leader.

2. The part with a second leader who can do anything except mess with the original leader seems a little pointless in my eyes, as it is just another coleader with a bit more power.

3. I doubt they would add criminal, prisoner and timebomb since they are negative titles and they have a history against those.

Things I love and agree with:

-More ranks in general
-Coleader limit set by leader
-Special/custom title that can be awarded

2015 addition: Could give the leader just a bit too much power since one of the great things in a clan is coleaders who give the leader advice and help him run the clan but this could let the leader make a clan where the coleader can only invite members and nothing else. 2015 addition: Could give the leader just a bit too much power since one of the great things in a clan is coleaders who give the leader advice and help him run the clan but this could let the leader make a clan where the coleader can only invite members and nothing else. Now you could say the leader should have such power but it is a clan and not a dictatorship.

Thanks. I don't know if you can tell, but I'm not the best with names :P Any suggestions would be appreciated. And maybe we could make it where everybody over member is in some sort of council, with the higher the rank more influence. So normally the leader would be able to influence coleaders' powers the most, but if cos want more power they can band together and vote for more power. Its basically whoever has the greater vote gets their way. If a tie does occur, one random member is chosen to decide it. I'll edit that in the thread tomorrow, goodnight!

I like this. I know I can set the max number of co-leaders by fiat, but having it locked in would be nice.

Preferably, I'd like no more than 10-20% of the clan to be co-leaders. Elder in a good clan should be sufficient recognition. Currently, more than half the clan is long term active reliable and trustworthy, and I don't have a good reason to demote any single one of the them. However, some do more leadership than others.

I would love to see a position like this:

Clan ​Whip: The officer(s) in charge of promoting activity in the chats, wars, or donating. They wouldn't be able to kick members, but they would be able to give out rewards or punishment for those who do not participate in donating/chatting/warring etc.

I personally dislike all of those roles. Its insane and too complicated. I will, however, get behind the idea of grand/high elders. In my clan at least, that would differentiate between people who have been there a while and people who just donate.

Positive and neutral Positions

Leader- Leader would stay more or less the same. However, a leader can promote another person to leader, with a limit of two leaders per clan. Even though their ranks are the same, the original leader still has more power. They cannot do anything else. Grand elders can or cannot start a war depending on a setting determined by leader.


elder- stays the same


general- can only accept and invite members. A way to train someone to become elder


Cadet- Is exactly the same as a member, just the name is to tell everyone he or she is on the way to general.


member- stays the same.

Now, you may think I stop here. Nope. There are some new ranks BELOW member to punish members. These new ranks are added at level 5

On trial- name in progress. Serves as a warning to a member to stop doing something. When demoting someone to this rank, you send a message of what is wrong.


Prisoner- member cannot donate to anyone, and is kicked out of wars


Criminal- cannot donate or request. Basically an empty hollow shell that can talk


timebomb- cannot do anything but chat. Has a specified amount of time before kicked automatically. (Sort of a farewell)


Now here is another idea, inspired by mtommy2597. An add-on to ranks. Most add-ons can only be added to 'positive ranks' (special member and up) or neutral ranks (member), however there is one that is exclusively for the time bomb

War opt-out- this add-on can be only added by the member him/herself. If you want to opt out use this add-on to your rank. If a member has not gotten on in a week, than this member is automatically opted-out This is now a thing! Now, let us see if someone opted out in chat with that little clan war symbol in front of their rank.

custom- this name is just to show off. It can only be awarded by leaders. It only serves a name purpose, nothing more, nothing less. Let's say jimmy here wins a donation contest. Leader adds to his rank Doantor, so if jimmy is an elder he will now be a donator-elder. Unlocked when your clan gets to level 3.


*Timebomb variant- This will has added to people with the negative Timebomb rank. It will instead provide a task for the Timebomb (chosen by leader) for the Timebomb to do. If the Timebomb is to donate troops, donating will be opened for them. Leaders can filter a timebomb's donations so it doesn't spam giants. If the Timebomb reaches a number of donations provided by the leader, for example, 500, in the certain amount of time; they will be automatically promoted to anything member and under (clarified by leader)

*= Applies only to negative ranks
Now lots of people have said this is too complicated and @ragerrodent helped inspire this idea. A tutorial (can be revisited) of each clan rank. It would be a video showing what each rank does.

First entire new section of 2015! This is the clan settings.
Now, in the clan settings, the leader can customize ranks. For example, all members are now peasants, while the leader is an overlord. THis can also be done on an individual basis. Also here is a check off list of what elders, cos, and grand elders can and can't do. That last bit is only changed by the leader!

I LOVE this!! But their should be no warnings that doesn't let people do stuff. 1. If you gave them a warning and they couldn't do anything they would just leave. 2. It should just be a warning note in their clan mail.

Great but. Get rid of time bomb and criminal. make prisoner able to donate but not request.(has to help others, can't help self) and call it unworthy.(prisoner is too boom beachy). And other leader would be right hand man.(actually too boom beachy so probably not). Other than that, great idea! I hope supercell adds it.

So far there have been two understandable opinions. Yours and the people who like it. It is a bit confusing and complicated, I will agree, but it adds more depth to the clans. To each their own.

That would make sense. If there is a member that has been misbehaving that values the clan enough maybe they'd try to make up. It's really made so we can punish members besides simply kicking them out. If after warning them they don't change, they need some disciplining.
