Testimony of a reluctant BARCHer

Hello, I am Hexquo, an almost maxed TH7 upgrading to TH8. After joining the forums, i posted a few threads asking for the best raiding strategies, and BARCH was repeated to me time and time again. I had tried BARCH, and had absolutely hated it, I was in the wrong trophy range(900-1100), with the wrong level troops, going for the wrong bases.

I recently decided that I wanted to push to gold, where i had been informed there was a bountiful cornucopia of endless collector bases overflowing with all sorts of resources. Once there, I realized that giant/healer (my old strategy) was no longer working, so i reluctantly decided to try BARCH, as i was having a hard time getting elixir using my expensive army.

It worked! I discovered, after reading King James' BARCH guide, that BARCHing really is effective if done right. Now i use BARCH and love it, so for all of you who like me stubbornly refused to give the EASIEST raiding strategy (also cheapest) there is a chance, you should try it, it worked for me!

Pros:
-Cheap (the cheapest)
-Fast (the fastest)
-Easy (the easiest)
-Almost guaranteed 1-star, if not you'll get 49% but that is ok

Cons:
-Cant reach inner storages
-Can be disrupted easily
-Can get boring

Good to see you benefiting from BARCH! It's a great strategy.

You'll be happy to know that BAM trains a little faster. (15 min or so) When your minions are strong enough, give that a try and you can reach some of those storages!

Also, try adding some WB's they will help you reach those Storages as well.
I carry 10

In general it can't reach inner storages, but it can for a town hall below you or for preemies with weak splash. Just watch out for those purple Wizard Towers!
As a regular th9 Barcher, I go for all storages on th8 (occasional th7 that is filled), and go for 2-3 storages on a really full th9. Now that my Heroes are stronger, I can even go for all storages on a th9 if they are both awake and the payout seems worth it.

im midway through th7 and having som etrouble getting DE

have u found a good range for DE?

who says you cant reach inner storages with barch?....just need a couple of heal spells and your king maybe even a rage

If your looking to get rid of the boring con, the inner storage con, go BAM its an epic strat and even quicker than barch to train :rolleyes:

I am farming at 1500 and have found fairly good DE, i havent been searching for it, but ive made about 6000 DE this weak without looking for it at all, so thats pretty good.

Unless the payout is awesome you just spent 70,000 elixir in spells. Defeats the purpose.

if you'r just looking for gold elixer is irrelevant. if you'r smart you will be done with elixer upgrades within 2 or 3 weeks of getting to a new th lvl. other then the lab but thats 1 at a time and very easy to save up for.

also even if you need elixer and a couple spells lets you crack a 250k+ storage base it is obviously worth it.

Thats the key to any farming strategy. U just have to make sure payout is worth your expense.

Not necessarily, if you're using spells in an attack but your priority is gold and/or DE then elixir is unimportant. If the goal is to farm elixir then I would agree.

Barch plus 4-8 wallbreakers and rage spells will get you to most storages.

How exactly do i do this, my barbs generally get decimated by splash, and my archers are even worse at withstanding splash, how do you get those inner storages if troops cant survive

What level are your troops what th levels are you attacking ? If you attack a base with wiz towers and mortars onthe outer layers it's not always worth trying unless the loot is good. Also you can distract splash damage by spreading troops out not just releasing in one central point.

Generally you you should not be attacking a base that can one hit kill the troops you are sending out with splash damage. Also your barb king can be used to distract splash dealers.

My troops dont get one shotted, and i do disperse them, but as soon as a hole opens in the wall they all clump together and die.

I switched to BARCH 3 days ago after having already farmed a while in gold 3 successfully. It was immediately clear how miserably ineffective my old army composition was in comparison. Best decision I've ever made, and I've already coverted a number of my clanmates with my replays. BARCH on, op, BARCH on.

When I BARCH, I add 8 wb's and lots of times I'm able to get through 2 layers of walls to storages. Give it a try.

Drop a heal spell on them.

This or a proper rage placement will get them moving out of the danger zone.

Lie!!!! I can easily get the storages of a mid-th8 and 3 star a th7, especially with my barb king, but he's not needed. Also I love attacking a th8 or 9 with 200+ gold and 2 storages near each other and the edge.

A th9 1 starred me but got 82% (missed my th in the corner) with barch. I am a nearly maxed th8.

What is needed to pull this off? I can never seem to get higher than 50-55%

Barch is all i use for farming as a th8. I get 50% or higher on almost all th7s and th8s with Level 5 troops. I think it is THE BEST farming army if used correctly. I also carry 3 lighting for DE storages if they're full enough 😂

I completely surround the base with all my barbs then do the same with all my archers...barbs clear the outside and take the damage while archers pick away at the buildings/defenses behind the walls. L5 troops should get an easy 50%+ on all th7s and most th8s

That is exactly how i do it, but some people are talking about getting three stars with barch, which seems impossible, as barbs and archers dies pretty easy

barch is an alternative to bam (best method by far) which does not use DE. I hang around 1700 pulling 800k minimum an hour.

This is full of lies. I can easily 3 star strong th 7's to weak th 8's with barch and my barb king, also it is not the fastest or the cheapest. All barbs and all goblins are cheaper. All barbs is faster.

Ive gotten some 3 stars with barch on weak bases mostly th7s but some th8s.

I haven't 3 starred any bases yet (haven't even been using it a full week yet) but I've gotten a few 2 stars as well as penetrated a number of cores and I still only have level 4 troops.

I will say this. I am not a barcher and I probably will nvr be. I hate being stuck to collector raids. If I try to take the storages, my wbs go every which way but where I want them. I'm god awful with those wbs. Hate needing spells to try to get the storages, then needing them for the nxt raid. All in all, it ain't for me. Now promote those wbs and pair them with a multitude of flying demon monkeys and i can take just about any base. Just my two cents

To get into storages you clear the outside buildings with as little troops as possible in the area you want to attack. Drop barb king with 10 barbs as a meat shield, and a few archers behind to take out buildings that are shooting at the meat shield. Rage barb king to break through the first layer of walls. If you don’t have lv5 barb king drop another 10 or so to take out the wall. Once the wall is broken, drop troops like crazy, but being mindful of splash damage.

Getting 100% requires the above but with less troops and spreading them ALL AROUND the base. Spreading them around is key so only 1 group of troops are taking splash damage instead of all at once. Sometimes I can get 100% with my storage technique but it is extremely rare.

Stop going after collector raids and using wb or spells for getting into storages. Practice makes perfect and you will get it. Worst comes worst, have a bunch of heal spells at your side while you are learning. I know I said don't use spells, but this is while you are learning the technique and if you screwed up. You should only need to use 1 if that happens.
I find that using barch is almost the same as BAM and I can use them both with similar results. The difference is the training time and cost.

At TH7 I was in the 1100-1300 trophy range. At TH8 I'm sticking with the 1400-1600 range. I use a modified BARCH:

4 x Wallbreakers
40 x Goblins
70 x Barbarians
80 x Archers

That's a rough count, but you get the gist. And of course my Barbarian King and I come loaded with 3 x Lvl 4 Heal Spells (archers are lvl 5 now, barbarians will be lvl 5 tonight)

I tend to avoid bases that have lvl 6 mortars since they wreak havoc on my troop composition.

But I've found plenty of people who have TWO mortars upgrading at the same time, have lvl 3-4 mortars or just really poorly designed bases that I can push to the core with and get the storages and not just have to hit outside collectors.
