I'm a new TH8 and I'm in that awkward spot where I have the TH8 loot penalty, but not the TH8 troops.
I'm at around 1300 trophies and loot is awful. I'm lucky to even get 500k gold an hour, and barely break even on elixir. There just aren't any collector raids, and TH6s aren't very attractive targets anymore.
How do TH8s with lots of level 8 walls manage to do it? What trophy level are they at and what army comp do they use?
After a lot of experimentation I found the best range for me.
Farming with 70 barbs and 130 archers at around 1650-1750.

easy pickings for the main part.
get on with your archer and barb upgrades though to make it a little easier.
I recommend 1600+. :)
1600 - 1800 :) especially for DE.

Attacked 7 times today with 3 collector raids with 250k+ gold.
Got first up to crystal and went down about 50 trophies so i get the crystal win bonus
I'm finding good collector raids plus some DE storage rades in the 1600-1800 range but I have mostly TH8 troops now. When I still had TH7 troops I was getting super easy bases with massive loot for a while around 1200 and around 1400 too. In fact if you're just going for gold/elix I would say go down to 1150 and move up in increments in 50. You will find a sweet spot somewhere between 1150 and 1400.
Anywhere between 1400-1800. Low end for gold and up higher for gold plus de.
I found lots of good loot in gold III and II;)

youre a newbie th8....drop to 1100-1150 immediately....lovely th7s to pick on if you have lv5 troops and when you go offline try to drop trophies to around 1100 so that those desperate th9s or powerful th8s won't be wh@cking you for your loot...
i dont know whether you maxed th7 or not but even if you did staying low right now is the best bet....after you upgrade your arch towers and cannons to atleast lv9...mortars to lv6....wiz towers to 5 and get 225 purples you can start moving up above 1300 trophies and into gold 2
oh and use barch with 2 heal and 1 rage or all heal....use spells only when very good storage raid and decent wiz and mortar level....try not to use more than 2 spells
While im only TH7, most of my loot is farmed off TH8's, im sitting in Gold III, around 1500 trophies, and im scoring super solid loot against TH8-9 and just decimating and TH6-7's i find. Thats where i would go if i were you

I check the loot available, then i check the storages and the mines, im not looking for abandoned bases, just people who have a good bit in mines, even tho they may have only been offline for a couple hours, I generally make about 100,000 gold and elixir off TH8-9's, other things to look for is if they have loot in their cc, my only other requirement for bases to raid is that most mines arent in the walls, if all or most are inside the walls i generally skip, just be patient on the next button, sometimes i have to search for a good 5 minutes, but it is so worth it.Quote:
