I have 7,000 gems and a TH8 upgrading to 9. Please don't say boost barracks or resources, I want to know what would be best to gem aside from elixir upgrades as I am full in elixir

In my opinion , get all 5 builders if you don't have them already.
Then I would fill up one of your storages , which is 2,000 gems.
Dark Elixer maybe? If you want to either upgrade troops or heroes that's what I would go with.
Get the archer queen if you haven't already.
aside from elixer upgrades? like any upgrade? well those are the best to gem other then DE upgrades. why would you gem gold upgrades?
builders huts
laboratory and lab upgrades. honestly you could sink all you'r gems here.
spell factory
barracks (nobody likes not being able to use them)
army camps
Dark barracks but this is certainly the least important as having 1 DB isnt all that bad.
As far as gold upgrades. splash before single target. maybe teslas first as an exeption but i found those good to do while working on walls with the long upgrade times.
dunno, boosting is 20x more efficient then buying resources. 7k gems wont go as far as you might think but it will last a long time and be much more fun boosting you'r barracks.
edit - oh yeah. hero's. but i would still boost for balloonion then just upgrade the build time and rinse repeat. you'll really only get a few lvl's if you buy the DE. many more if you boost.
If you want to max everything get builders then research. I believe you spend the most time researching troops n spells than anything else. As others have said heroes take a loooooooong time also.
I have 4 builders so I don't need anymore, and my barracks are maxed

Boosting barracks can literally create the army faster than you can use them (assuming you don't throw the troops away!).
You will spend 50 gems (4x10 for barracks, 10 for spells), and should, if you are competent, be able to make the same resources as if you'd paid the 1,000 or so to fill your storages. Plus it's way more fun.
When I hit TH8 I researched archers (lvl5) and then when I had enough Elixir stored from raids, I gemmed the archers complete and did barbarians (lvl5) and then I did the same when I had enough for Dragons (lvl3).
Spend the gems on things that people can't take away from you, like better troops and a builder :)
Best way to use gems : get all builder huts. They help maximize the speed of upgrades (you will get more upgrades) and then you just save em for boost. Boost for 2hrs.. And build bam or somehting.. And constantly raid. You can rack up 7million in a good raid session
Yep, 5th builder for sure. Others have said it here, but like it or not, the best use of gems is to shorten the time it takes to build an army - it's the best bang for your buck.

Best way to gem is get all 5 builders and gem on researches. Builders help u upgrade buildings faster and research because u can only upgrade one research at a time, so it's worth to speed your upgrade there. Spending gems on buildings or rss is a waste because u can raid for rss and buildings upgrade is a long run... there are too many building to upgrade, u can't upgrade them all. Besides it's with troops u play the game, so researches are more important, worth speeding them up and it's a long term investment.

and why in the rush to spend the gems? just sit on it for a while and youll figure out your need, especially at th10
otherwise always gem time, but at th10 when its impossible to save loot, maybe then u can gem the loot
