Would be funny if Air defenses worked against Mr Ts jumping over walls.
I'd 8 visited yesterday. They jumped over wall and died after 1-2 swings. Their jumping capability separate them from main troops and picked by inner layer def. For 30de and 5min training each, hog trainers need to think of better strategy than just release the hog and later complaint about it.
I would be really interested to watch some videos on success stories. Again, leveling spear yielding village with tanks is just for amusement than strategy.
I can't really think of a good way to use them yet. With a ground army if they hop the walls they are on their own (as you've mentioned). With an air army they are the sole focus of the non-arial towers. In the few times that have been sent against my base I haven't seen any used effectively.
Well, I was looking for a town hall 8 with a lot of cells or boxes it i couldn't pass on this beauty... Already upgrading again...sorry for the quantity of pics...

I could see them being used to take out centralized AD's allowing Dragons and Giant-Healer armies the ability to attack base's they might normally not be able to.
Their skin is not thick enough to soak all the damage, they don't target defense and not directional. They won't be able to pass first inner row of buildings alone.
Not to sound negative, but to share data: I remember it's 4-5 shots from max TH8 archer tower/canon. So if two shooting at one hog, then it's 2-3shots, and unlucky ones with 3 locking in...
