Even though his image was fake, it is not impossible to get a TH3 to C2 and beyond. The image below is of my TH5 sitting at C3. I could have pushed higher but I wore my finger down to a nub on the 'Next' button looking for a TH to snipe and just got tired of it. Besides, I only wanted the achievement so I could get the gems.

If anyone is curious, the point of this image was to demonstrate to someone else that a TH5 at C3 just gets steamrolled every time it is attacked. Anyway, here ya go:

I think someone posted a TH2 making it to champion, or at least master. And that one is not photoshopped.
