Hog rider attack strat help

I have level 4 hogs at th8. Im using 2 level 5 heal and 1 level 5 lightning. My BK is 10.

Any good CURRENT hog guides or vids?

What is the best army comp?

What is the best way to deploy them? I have seen vids where people just pull cc and heros, and then spam hogs in the spot they killed the cc/heros. Is this the best way to do it? It seems using multiple groups closer to wts/mortars would be more effective.

How high of defensive levels can level 4 hogs reliably 3 star?

Is picking off air D with hogs and then using drags a more effective strat?

How about using one golem opposite hog deploy to draw fire off hogs?

Are hogs the best CC troop to use with hogs?

Anything I havent asked that I need to know?

A hog attack requires you to lure and destroy the clan castle and heroes otherwise the hogs are doomed and you've already failed your attack, after that you spam your hogs and it's up to spell timing and placement to get the 3 star.

Anything else?

There wasn't much detail in the above post but really that's about it.

1) It is a MUST to destroy CC Troops and Heroes first.
2) You need to take out the strongest defences as quickly as possible. Hogs go from defence to nearest defence so find the shortest route to the strongest defence and drop ALL hogs.
3) Use Heal spells around Mortars / Wizard Towers. Once you get to TH10 you'll need Rage to quickly get rid of Infernos set to Multi (where Heal doesn't work)
4) Be quick on step 1 as it can waste time meaning you don't finish in the 3 minutes

Golems get lost and stuck behind walls. Forget them at your level.

Hogs and Drags would depend on the base. Possibly in Clan Wars when you get to scout and plan, but not in random matchmaking.

With level 4 Hogs you're probably good against TH8 / prem to mid TH9. (all depends on step 2 above).

Best army would be 34 to 36ish Hogs with a few archers / barbs for luring. Your CC troops should be whatever can get rid of their heroes (wizard / witch works well higher up)

It is all about practise with Hogs. You need to pay close attention to step 2 combined with perfect spell placement. ie: drop a Heal spell where you know the Hogs are going to be NOT where they currently are.

I'm having success at the moment with this composition in Crystal III

16 Minions
4 Witches
5 Wallbreakers
10 archers
35 more archers in my CC
2 Heal
3 Rage

All the troops are maxed except for the CC archers. More often than not I only have to use the heal spells and 1 rage.

I recognise I am fighting below my weight. I'm madly farming for gold though and haven't been finding much higher up

The strategy I use is

Archers and CC for heroes. Hopefully accounts for both but if not damages them enough

Minions for CC troops

Hogs in, 2 finger technique, opposite where heroes are whenever possible. Let them destroy the out most defences under Heal spells.

I then drop as many minions as I need to clear the outside buildings.

Drop a Wallbreaker or 2 straight away. How many depends on wall level.

Deploy witches, AQ and BK near to where the Wallbreakers have breached the wall and away from outside buildings. You need them inside.

Follow with the rest of the Wallbreaker 1 by 1

No set rule on rage spells, I just use where and when I think I need to.

As per Stitch, but personally I've had success against most TH8 and prem TH9 with as few as 20 level 3 hogs, combined with 4 Giants, at least 20 archers and 20 barbs, and 4-6 wizards (clan castle and King optional). Do not worry about lightning, another Heal is much more useful. Just use giants to lure a hard to reach CC, then barbs and archers (up to 2 wiz) to kill CC and hero(s), then dump down hogs, using all your remaining troops to distract and/or mop up. Practice makes perfect - you need to get the hang of which bases are too well upgraded, too well designed, and also exactly when to drop a heal spell (not too early, not too late). For war, I'd take a similar army but up the hogs to around 24 for TH8, but that's me I like to conserve a bit of DE and do not use hogs for luring, e.g. I prefer Barbs or Giants, and I prefer to have just enough hogs to kill the defenses, and rely on other troops for some clean-up.

Im specifically interested in CW if that makes a difference.

I use 20 hogs, 30 archers, 30 barbs, and 30 gobs. Use the barbs and archers to take out cc troops and heroes then let loose with the hogs. After half the base is wiped out i will drop the gobs to clean up. If I am high in trophies then I will use less gobs and archers and substitute them with 4-6 giants. Drop the giants around the base to distract multiple defenses while the hogs run through them.

Late th8. For CWs I use:

28 lev 4 hogs
10 lev 5 wiz
10 lev 5 archies
10 lev 5 barbs

Lev 5 or 6 wiz in CC. 3 maxed heal spells. Forget the light spell as it barely dents Heros/high level wizzies/ drags.

Lure heroes with barbs/archies. Also CC if you can get them as well. Might need to use a hog or 2 to pull them all. Drop barbs/archies/CC on heros+ CC. Make damn sure they all die!

Pick your spot (or 2) that takes hogs into wiz tower(s). Make sure there are no MT areas big enough for double bombs on the way to the WTs. Drop 1 hog to check for traps then follow quickly with spurts of 5 or so. (Or half/half if your dropping in 2 spots). Heal at wiz tower and try to leave some heal on next defense in line.
- After hogs have taken down that areas defenses and move on drop all remaining wizzies and BK in the same spot you dropped hogs. They should follow into defenseless areas and kill all the other buildings.

If the TH is offset you can clear the area around it with hogs first and follow with wizzies. This usually clinches a 2 star attack early in the process. Works great on well developed TH9's. It should 3 star any th8 unless he has a smoking well trapped base.

I posted this in a thread a while back, pretty much what the others said..

Tips:

1. Take out ALL CC troops. Make sure to get them all. Drop a few hogs to draw them all out.
2. Dispatch heroes
3. Don't use heal spells too early. In general, use them around wiz towers.
4. Two-finger two lines of hogs. Don't just spam unless against an inactive or premmie.
4. Watch out for double giant bombs.
5. Use heroes and CC troops to clean up as many times you will be running against the clock.
6. Practice, practice, practice.

Caveat: this will take max th9s no problem with max hogs. Lvl1 infernos on disco mode are a bit more complicated. Lvl2+ infernos on disco are a skip.
