Upgrade to TH 9 or not?

I maxed all my walls to lv 8 and my barbarian king is lv 10, but here's the problem. My defences are pretty far from max, I'd say at least a month's work.
2 ADs lv 6 and 1 lv 5
Archer towers lv 9
Cannons maxed
Teslas lv 3
Wiz towers and Mortars maxed

All my farming troops are max level and I upgraded a few more luxury ones.

Should I start the upgrade or not? I feel that by staying at th 8 I'm actually slowing down my progress and I'm leaning towards upgrading but I want to hear what you suggest

Complicated. You will probably profit from TH9 if you're farming that much. But then again, you know, your "lower" defenses aren't going to be magically upgraded.

It sounds like as if you only have 3 builders available - just a wild guess here. If that's the case, and you really farm so much that you could easily be putting more resources into defenses, you should consider buying the other 2 (from personal experience: it's worth it!)

Yes upgrade. If you already have maxed elixir troops, upgrade.

I have the builders but still,no one can take away the whole month it takes for 1 tesla to go from lv 3 to 6.
I'm farming somewhere between 5 and 8 million gold per day.

While upgrading your TH, Work on your def :)

With max walls and max BK (for th8), you should upgrade, provided the main troops are maxed. Nothing worse than overcapping resources and wasting them, which sounds like it'll become a serious problem for you soon enough.

The problem is you earn too much gold per day!

It really sucks not having walls to dump gold into anymore.

The fact that you've maxed your farming troops means you'll be able to progress at TH9, but you will be gimped on defense, that's for sure. Plus, you'll be at TH9 longer overall before being ready for TH10 compared to if you stayed at TH8 to max out more defenses before moving up.

The choice is yours, you will survive if you upgrade now, but you will be in a better position the longer you wait.

I would max archer towers then go to th9. If you wait too long to 100% max your base you actually do end up stunting your progress. oops forgot also do teslas I didn't and regretted it later.

I'm a fresh th9 too. I upgraded when my walls are maxed (look at my sig).
I've been doing fine :) Defense is not a problem, but farming is. It's a lot harder to farm specially when you still don't have level6 troops.

staying while you've maxed your walls is stupid...
no matter what troops and what def you got, if you have maxed your walls then you should upgrade

you loose millions of gold per day because you can't farm anymore

assume you just upgrade to th9, you don't get all the th9 buildings first... instead of maxing the th8 stuff... you still can dump your gold into new walls and grind for AQ.

you will have much better walls and AQ than those maxed people.

Well, I advanced TH9 when I'm lv.64 and now I'm lv.91... already have about 50 lava walls, 140 legos and lvl. 10+ both heroes :cool:

most expensive items are done... so u can upgrade. (walls and heros... always max those)

Go ahead. I reached th9 10d ago and am very happy. I maxed everything but archer towers and walls(only did half), but I had those teslas done, as well as splash, air, and cannons maxed.

Loot has been great. The queen is awesome. I have some cheap upgrades to do along with the expensive ones, which is very nice.

Given the length of time to max heroes at th9, there is more than enough time to get everything else done.

A agree with the quoted parts I have used from Sharonsym's post. ^^

The walls are the hard part of TH8 IMO...
if you are farming heavy now, then it will benefit you to go.. you can spend your extra loot into Legos/Lavas if you keep that kind of pace at TH9.plus you'll get to get the bells and whistles from TH9.. your elixir will be dry for a while, but just keep grinding.. TH9 is a good spot to max and catch up on old rushed over projects like your Teslas.

Id save up the 40k you need for the AQ during your upgrade, and if you can fill the stores you have a good opportunity to get the Lab;SF (or Camps) and those X-Bows going right away.. and 225 skull walls will save you a lot of grief early. and will probably grant you a lot of 'next' passing by your base.

Don't up your town hall
Take a month of lazy holiday to max your def
So you can go in circle while you wait to max

Anyway, i never understand for people who suggest to max thing before going up while their walls & troops is already or nearly max

Go up. You'll regret sitting now when you are doing lvl 9 or 10 walls after all defenses are finished :(

Yes I decided to upgrade, thanks for the advice lads.
Teslas will be lv 5 by the time the town hall is done, so I don't think it will be that big of an issue.
