Surely you should be able to commit to a build by including 2 or even 3 builders, so like you could use gems on resources to speed them up, how about the same with builders for upgrades, or atleast be an option to speed this up with gems?

It is absolutely nonsense and has no reason to do this.
Builders must be unionized...!!! If I have 2 builders and 1 project, there is no logical reason not to allow both builders to work on the project. I actually have 4 builders and try to keep them busy, however the point is...I PAID FOR THEM, AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE 2 IF I CHOOSE. PERIOD...The ONLY reason this was ruled out is this would in some miniscule manner save players some, let me repeat, some gems, seeing as we already paid for the builders and the building upgrade. It is purely driven by greed, thus why other similar games are claiming market share...Please make certain you reply back with typical, beyond the keyboard courage...have a wonderful day.
