[TH 9] The TETRIS -- Farming Town Hall 9

Hello everyone! This is my first real submission of a custom layout, so i am mostly looking for suggestions and comments on how to make it better. Please feel free to say whatever you want about this base. If it stinks, say so!:( If it is awesome, say so!:) If it could be better, by all means SAY SO!:D

I am about to go to Town Hall 9, so I decided to play around in a base builder to see what I could make. I had also looked up some of Chief Pat's and Flammy's videos to try and understand the important parts of a Town Hall 9 farming base. Some of the features of this base may look a lot like other Town Hall 9 farming bases, and that is because I am using what I liked and what I thought would be effective in keeping those pesky attackers away from your loot. While designing this, I tried to design against armies that I have seen in the 1400 trophy range, because that is where I usually stick around when I farm.

Note: As of right now, this is untested. All my observations listed in the pros and cons sections are just from my predictions and observations of other bases' success.

Without further ado, I present: The TETRIS

PROS:cool:
I. Triangulated mortars
II. Centralized Clan Castle
III. Effective use of X-Bows' range
IV. Traps designed to distract giants and severely weaken them
V. Centralized dark elixir storage
VI. Centralized archer queen

CONS:(
I. Poor coverage of archer towers and cannons
II. Leftover walls (14)
III. BK in the middle is not favorable
IV. Exposed elixir storages (not much of a con but I still had to list it)

Please tell me what you think can be improved. Remember that this is the first base I have submitted to the forums and that it has not been tested yet. Im sort of using this as a testing period of sorts before I can actually use it because, as you can see in my sig, I am still a town hall 8. Thanks for reading!:cool:

TL;DR New TH 9 base from a noob designer who isn't even a town hall 9. Be gentle.

The base is pretty solid, but you should swap out the hero platforms for your xbows.
Also, your air defenses are incredibly exposed which obviously would not help during an air attack.

Then wouldn't it be easier to lure out my BK and AQ?

The heroes would get lured out anyway because of how they wander around, but your xbows are generally more important as they have massive range and cover most of your base,

Concidering that fact, i think the heroes should not even be in the walls. They would be useless if they are able to be lured out that easily. I thought their range would be covered by the base even if they wander around.

Well, it's still useful to have heroes inside walls as then they could join the battle sooner if an attacker attacks from the opposite side.
If completely outside the walls, a hero might not even get activated during the course of the entire battle (rare)

The exposed air defense makes you extremely vulnerable to air raids

It looks okay certainly but nothing really outstanding. I personally wouldn't use it because it just has too many weak spots. The only effective defense would be against a bunch of giants, and even that in combinations with some spells and heroes would get to the core and probably take 3, if not all 4 gold storages.
Hogs would wreck this base and the ADs are pretty vulnerable too - and the outside buildings are too easy to be sniping with a single archer. I personally also prefer 2 double giant bombs and trap placement deeper inside the base than just the funnels.

I liked your idea, so i swapped some things around but kept the core and sub-core intact.

I usually don't see many air raids at my level, but I'm going to try and remake the base after i get more reviews. Ill try to keep this in mind when I redesign it.

I wasn't really expecting to be outstanding, I expected flaws and hoped people would point them out. I did think about giants when designing this, because that is what i use when raiding and that is what i find myself defending against near my trophy level. Ive never seen hogs or balloons down at my level so I did not take them into consideration during the construction of this base. I have edited the post to say that and will completely redesign the base in the near future. I don't worry about the outside buildings too much, because they are just there to push back the spawn point.

A good anti hog base can be extremely effective on giants

Dropping a single archer on an outside building makes it really easy to gather all your CC troops/BK/AQ to wreck them with wizards. :rolleyes:
Didn't mean to sound rude or insulting to you anyway, just honestly telling you why I wouldn't use it. A lot is personal preference though.

You aren't sounding rude, and if you were I wouldn't mind XD. The more feedback the better, rude or not.

Anyway, that is a good point that I have not considered… I find myself saying that a lot now haha. That is why I made the base and thread, to find out every nook and cranny involving base making of this level.

Should I keep the buildings as close to the base as possible? Or should I place the buildings in such a way that the clan castle cannot be lured and therefore do not need to place the buildings closer to the walls?

Just put 2 AD where the xbows are, and the other 2 AD where the AT beside gold storages, and xbows where the BK and AQ are. And the 2 AT where the AD beside elixir storages.
