When to use healers and spells

When do you use the healers? When do you use the spells?

I am just about finished upgrading to TH7. I recently got my healers up and running but cant seem to get the hang of using them. I know placement is key, and would love a few image examples of where those little angels should be placed for effective use.

I know for resource farming spells just waste elixir. Spells are best for what? CW and trophy pushing basically right? I like to keep spells in my arsenal for just in case during farming.

Healers cost 5k, a healing spell costs 18k... Obviously the healer is the better item for augmenting the army. right?

IMO, Spells > Healers

- they don't take up 14 troop spots
- they can heal flying troops
- they can not be guided off course
- nothing can prevent them from doing their job

I really doubt a th7 would be attacking th10's? inferno towers bases should NOT be attacked with giant/healers.

also if you are worried about elixir consumption, I don't recommend using giant/healer, instead BAM or BARCH.

limited range, perhaps but it can heal barbs, giants archers, everything, inside the spell, and are ALOT more reliable.

Healers can't heal against infernos also, and healing spells can't be shot down by air defenses

Healing spells don't have AI to get messed up. Nuff' said.

Seems like my healer always finds the seeking air mine as soon as I drop her, with spells I only have to worry about my fat fingers dropping more than one accidentally.

I say experiment with both and see which u prefer and works best for your needs. because you can see that there are good and bad things for both. If you are farming elixir just make sure it is a big enough loot to be worth spending the amount for the spells. But this goes for any troops or spells. When you are farming it wont do you any good to spend more than what you are farming. You just have to find the right person to attack with a big enough loot and easy enough to get to and use the least amount of troops and resources to get.

So I have tried raiding a few(like 6?) times with healer/giant combo.... I think I am doing something wrong because my healers die soooo fast. And they dont seem to save my giants from much damage either.

I see people attack me with the same exact combo's, same exact lvl troops/healers and they do great. But my attacks just fail. These are similiar lvl players too folks....

I TRY to hit the AD first, I TRY to place my healer far enough out to heal without attracting tower attack, I TRY to focus all the giants together so they work as one unit....

But I still FAIL.

Go for bases with an exposed air defense. Destroy it before putting healer down.

yes. at you'r lvl you'r oponent should only have 1 air deffense. attack a base that does not have it centered. place 1 giant to check for spring traps then all of them. WBs the wall in front of the air d then when it is dead place the healer. it works great all the way through TH8. at TH9 healers are kinda obsolete.

not sure what you are running into. use the heal spell before the air d is dead to keep them alive. make sure you have 12 at an absolute minimum giants but at that lvl i used 15. when you get 200 space use 20. Dont let the giant sit their and bang on walls. giant dps is horrible so use WB's to break walls. other then that you need to make up for the low giant dps so place some archers to check for bombs then place a bunch of wizards to destroy everything. giant / healer / wizard / archer. will 3 star a base right through th8.

lightning any CC troops that attack the giants because they will NOT fight the cc troops until every last deffense is dead.

Few things I think may help;
1. Barbarians to distract some.. like a large cluster of them 15-25 around the Giants to distract towers as well..not too far away though we all know how stupid Barbs and Archers (and Dragons/PEKKAS) are when it comes to 'Any' target..lolz it sucks so bad when there is one turret that is shooting one barb, and the healer is stuck on him while the giants get pummeled by other defs..ugh!

Of course you will want some Archers to back up your Giants..

another thing I do is pack some minions (or Hogs..) the Minons can distract the A/Defs and soak up some of the Air-bombs (red ones) and distract the fire away from the Healers as well. not too man as they are hefty on the housing space at times.
Hogs; release them (a couple, I know you have limited space and all) near the A/Defs they hop in and take them out in pretty good order.

with spells, I try to place my spell in a cluster of 3-4 def turrets..usually Heal, since it cooks faster and is cheaper its usually my go to spell when I farm.

Also; a CC with high level B'loons works well too, (since cooking your own can be counter productive to farming) or Hogs, or even more high level Giants.. anything to aid in the quest for you getting that loot. but req some "targets Defs" in your CC to help out.


If you are going to TH7, then you can still hit those TH6's they only have 1 A/Def ! (I slaughtered many a TH6 once I was hip to this)
Look for bases that do not have the A/Defs centralized. if they do.. work around the base to get the goods if you can. its hard to describe, but you start to get a feel for which bases will be good to raid with Giant/Healer army.

Goblins also help this compo out since they eat up the reso pretty quik. after key splash turrets are down they run around distracting the defenses too..

these things should help out some. like I said its kinda hard to describe with out a replay or something to critique.
Archer Towers are a priority, as well as A/Def (obviously) the healers can take a pounding from Wiz Towers and Teslas though.
