A New "Level" of Defence: Elevations
My idea is that your could increase (or decrease) the elevation in and around your village. Troops would move more slowly uphill and faster downhill. Flying troops would have no difficulty navigating this change.
So think about it, you could make your village into a mountain with a steep path all the way to the town hall, forcing an army to fight the entire way up. You could elevate your walls making it harder for troops to hit them, especially with a mortar continually knocking them back down.
To expand further on this, you could have inclines and cliffs. Troops can walk up and down inclines and could only jump off the cliffs... though it would have to be made so that one couldn't trap troops in "pitfalls". You would also have to have some sort of path to everything so that you couldn't create cliffs all around your base and therefor only be vulnerable from an airborne attack.
This would also create the need for new, elevation "friendly" traps, such as an oil slick on an incline or a cage like trap at the bottom of a steep incline.
Do you guys have any ideas or find any problems?
