Anyone else using Balloons and Minions at th 8?

I've been using Balloons and Minions in war since the update, and they've been working great. I can normally get three stars on strong town hall 8s. I've never really heard/seen of any other town hall 8s using this strategy. Is there a reason? Or am I mistaken and it is a common strategy?

Is it possible to post your attack log?
Also, what level are your minions? (I assume your balloons are lvl5).

I have lvl3 minions but my balloons are still lvl4. Not sure if it's worth the time right now to upgrade the balloons and go balloonion. I'm going mass lvl3 dragons for clan wars right now and it's working great vs other TH8 and TH9 (2-3 star victories).

I am a very inexperienced trophy pusher that got to 2300 trophies with level 5 balloons and level 4 minions. It is a great strategy used by town hall 8s. The only thing i don't like about it is its cost, for me its about 450 dark elixir invested (unless i use more balloons). I use it for special occasions like a revenge or clan wars. It works wonders. XD

I don't raid with them very often out of war, because I'm farming, so I can't share an attack log, but I will post a few pics in a while. My mins are only lvl 2. They just clean up and a not required to do much, so their lvl matters much less then the balloons, at least when attempting to three star a base vs 1-2 star.

Cool! When pushing past 2000 trophies, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding bases with 450 DE. How many Mins do you use?

Ya I do agree with u I got to 2450 at th8 with ballons then got to 2757 with max ballons and mins

I meant that i don't like to use it as a farming army like some of my friends do. I assumed people do it here too although i haven't seen much of it. Anyway, i use about 50 minions and reduce it to 40 and add 4 balloons when i am low on DE. I use 2 heal spells and 1 rage. That is where it really weakens the attack style, you need spells for this army and 3 spells really leaves th 8s at a disadvantage. Plus it takes a long time to cook the spells needed so again its a bad farming army.

I suck at balloonion, I prefer something like 25 hog riders to take out a TH7 or 8. We have one member in our clan that uses balloonion all the time, he's a town hall 8.

I use it sometimes. I have lvl 5 loons and lvl 4 minions, it helps.
