If you have ground troops like barbs in your cc and are attacked by air troops they do not come out. This is the only exception other wise there has never been a castle lock.
I want to use them for defense but not offense. I don't want to keep bugging everyone for troops (even though I donated 6k last season).
Why the hell would i lock my clan castle troops in? They pretty much are the deciding factor in almost every single defence ever, especially clan wars.

I do not think a lock feature is needed for a CC.
If your base is big enough, the CC troops will be "un-lurable" until the walls are breached anyway. And if you use giants or barbs in your CC they wont attack when balloons and healers are the only attackers ((that doesnt happen much)) or they will only go after troops they can hit.
CC is handy for offense because if your are a lower lvl player, your clan can give you better troops to boost your attack power and help you move up in ranks.
CC as a defense is where it shines. Protected by mortars and towers, the CC troops can decimate the attacking army.
On a related note, what do you prefer to be donated to your CC?
