So I know that you aren't supposed to upgrade your townhall until you have finished every possible upgrade, but a lot of the people in my clan (who are, or have been, th8) are telling me to upgrade to th8 early. Do you guys think I should? here are pictures

Absolutely not. TH7 is the 'pink cloud' of loot in the eyes of most forumers. If you leave your upgrades until higher TH levels, you'll regret it.
Don't! I maxed my TH 7 completely and I sure am glad of it
Do it. I went to TH8 with level 5/6 walls and did not regret it.

Ive planned out my builds-- I've maxxed all of my buildings except 3 and the Teslas, and I've mapped it out so my defenses will be maxed and I'll be upgrading my town hall to 8.
Do all upgrades and max storage. You will not regret it. And I'd revamp your base. Funnels, compartmentalize, triangulate your weapons, etc. Seriously revamp your base. As in...really seriously ...
I'd do it, I went to TH 8 as a premmie and I AM IN LOOT HEAVEN, those level 5 troops take me to the storages easily and collectors raids are mor often and better than ever! It's just badat the start.
Here is the thing, if you upgrade your town hall early, you will get level 5 troops earlier and have way easier battles… but your loot will go down and people can steal more from you. If you wait, you have to work with level 4 troops but have more loot to steal and can keep much more. If you have some high cost upgrades left, definitely wait and upgrade those. If you have a bunch of cheap upgrades then i think you will be ok if you upgrade a little early. BUT, if i were you, i would really not upgrade your town hall until you have most if not all your walls upgraded to level 7. That will give you a huge advantage over a bunch of town hall 8s.
I am still a th7 and I won't be upgrading for another few days or so.
Current base
Everything maxed except 11 days worth of upgrades in the labs (mostly spells except 1 troop upgrade which has 2 days remaining) and only 49 walls left to upgrade
