Where do you like to place your useless mortars?
I experimenting and doing what a lot of the stronger players do..... Got 2 or my three mortars outside my base and the third is behind 1 layer or wall. Basically they hit three of the 4 corners of my base and my long range xbow is in range of the 4th corner.
Basically there is no safe zone in my base where an attacker is free to fight my heroes and CC without being under heavy fire.
Where do you place your mortars?
I place my mortars in the first layer of my walls, since i have an anti-hog base, so yes, the outside of my interior compartment
th8 and lower: use motars inside because thats one of their best defenses
th9 and 10: motars can be outside because infernos and xbows should be more of a priority to protect
This is the first I've heard of Mortars being useless. They aren't the strongest defense in the game but considering they do splash makes them very effective against certain armies.Quote:

Once ur th9 with xbows i suggest in the first layer of walls.
I keep mine behind one layer of walls due to using an anti hog base. Although I feel that both of the variations have their advantages.
In very high level gameplay the mortars are useless... The people just use Golems and such, and mortars do absolutely nothing against them... Although that is only if you are in Champ up
If you are anywhere below, mortars are key to your defense, taking out the smaller troops, that single target defenses get destroyed by
I'm TH7 so they are near the middle in a triangle.
Outside or First wall layer, Cannons do better job then Mortars up here in Champions
