PinWheel - TH8 Farming Layout With Funneling

Alright, got hit pretty hard by a TH9 player who 100% against me, however:

1. THREE of my defenses were down for upgrades (top and bottom right archer towers, top right wizard tower)

2. None of my defenses are maxed at this point, as I'm still relatively new to TH8. Cannons at Lvl 8, AT's Lvl 8, Wizard Towers lvl 4, Mortars Lvl 5, Air Defenses lvl 4, Teslas - two at lvl 1, one at lvl 2. Most of my collectors are lvl 7 and my storages only a few are maxed at lvl 11, rest are lvl 10.

Here is the troop composition he came with from the top left of the base:

100 lvl 6 archers
100 lvl 6 barbarians
6 lvl 1 giants (clan castle reinforcements)
Lvl 11 Barb King
Lvl 5 Archer Queen
10 Lvl 5 Minions
1 x Lvl 6 Heal spell



I don't know that there's a ton I can do to hold back an assault like that at TH8 anyway. I will continue to report other results as I have them.

Honestly, it should be pretty easy to hold back a barch attack from any town hall as a th8. Maybe it's the base, not the level of the defenses?

V3 is up in the OP, got tired of having to redo my entire base for clan wars so adjusted this to a hybrid design and I think setup better segments to distract wallbreakers and protect the core a bit more than the previous designs.

Just got attacked by a guy who sent:

28 Lvl 5 Balloons
30 Lvl 4 Minions
1 Lvl 5 Barbarian King
3 Lvl 5 Rage spells


Note that two of my AD are lvl 4 (up) and one is lvl 2 (upgrading to lvl 3 so down in this fight). AT's are all lvl 8 and upgradeable. Wizard Towers are all Lvl 4 (except the lvl 3 that is ugprading) and upgradeable. And Teslas are Lvl 1 or 2 and upgradeable.

My Seeking Air Mines can't go beyond Lvl 1. My Air Bombs are all Lvl 2 and upgradeable.

He was able to gank 170,000 elixir from me, but he spent 211,000 of his own elixir to do it. His forces came from the bottom right in the attack and achieved 81% damage in the assault.

Got attacked again, here's the relevant details:


1 lvl 3 AD down for upgrade to lvl 4
1 lvl 3 WT down for upgrade to lvl 4
1 lvl 8 cannon down for upgrade to lvl 9


Opponent attacked from the top right of my V3 hybrid design with the following force:

(16) Lvl 5 Giants
(4) Lvl 5 Wallbreakers
(20) Lvl 5 Archers
(15) Lvl 5 Wizards
(2) Lvl 2 Healers
(3) Lvl 3 Heal Spells


Damage Done: 68%
Gold Stolen: 69K (17K untouched)
Elixir Stolen: 34K (51K untouched)
DE Stolen: 568 (5 untouched)


Considering the defenses down, not having everything maxed and having an opponent spend roughly 175,000 elixir on the attack, I'd say I'm pretty pleased with how it held up considering.

My own raids generally cost about 30-40K elixir before factoring in if I need to drop a heal spell.
