Punish losing looters

When someone attacks and doesn't win, (either 50% or TH crush), punish them by giving a percentage of their own loot to the attacked village.
This restricts people dropping a barb into a base to deliberately lose and drop down leagues.
People will need to steadily win loot and trophies to make enough for their upgrade.

Each attack will get progressively harder, to earn their gold and elixier.

People can still drop down leagues, but they'll have to do it when they have spent their hard earned loot on an upgrade. This will reduce their loot loss penalty.

It may also reduce the number of lvl 10 TH's in Bronze 3 to 1 cashing in on those camps that have gone to rot by people not playing anymore.

2 problems I see with this . . .

1) I often drop a single troop on accident while scanning a base to see if I want to attack it, or just because it is such an awesome base and I am looking at it with no intent to attack . . . hate that bug

2) Dropping trophies is part of the game. I can get into crystal, but I am unable to save any amount of loot for upgrades. I have to drop in order to progress.

Overall I don't like the idea. Reduced % of loot when attacking lower bases is enough to encourage higher level players to play in higher ranks most of the time and I find it a better solution myself. Just my $0.02.

I suppose the solution to the first one is to focus and don't drool over your screen.

also you can drop trophies, you just have to think again. Back to the focusing part, "have I spent my loot, allowing me to drop to Bronze 3". Once in bronze three you can relaunch your assault on the looting of bases.

its a new form of tactic, because at the moment there is no thought to an attack. See lots of loot, send in 80 archers and 80 goblins sprinkled around the various mines and pumps.

No, the best solution to accidental dropping has been posted. Simply have SC default to "no troop selected" prior to battle. Makes it impossible to drop an accidental troop, which happens a lot completely on accident. As for dropping to bronze 3, don't be ridiculous. There is no volume of loot worth farming there if you are strong enough to climb into gold or crystal. Silver maybe but there are rapidly diminishing returns for dropping very far.

As far as sprinkling archers and goblins goes, that is a wonderful tactic with both up and down sides. The upside is a cheap army, quick to build with a good net loot reward. The down sides are you hit next a lot more looking for the perfect or abandoned base, you have to pass on most of the big loot because you don't have the right army make up, and you are almost completely incapable of looting any dark elixir.

Just because you don't like the tactic doesn't mean it isn't a perfectly good one. It only means it doesn't fit your play style. Besides, SC likes it when people drop trophies. They spend gems to boost their mines, then spend gems to boost barracks to push back up into higher leagues again. Gems that SC makes money on. Penalizing people who drop trophies is a bad idea. There are already enough reasons not to.

Why should only TH1-9 get to benefit from abandoned villages? Their upgrades are FAR less expensive than upgrades after Th10. Those players arguably have more of a claim to abandoned loot. Certainly not less.

How does looting abandoned villages affect you exactly?

I don't really like this idea. I often just launch reckless attacks on my way down to trophies, so I can grab loot and subsequently get rid of trophies I don't want. For me, there is already the Revenge button that I think performs this function better than losing your own resources after losing a raid.

Yep. Bad idea, most of us farmers just accidentally drop a troop in, or deliberately go down in trophies. Punishing farmers for farming defeats the whole purpose of farming in the first place.

So you want people to get some penalty after they have just lost a battle after using a lot of their troops that takes a long time to be made???

I don't understand your logic. If anything, the defender side should get something for their win (generated loot like loot bonus or w/e), but not a penalty to the one who lost their attack

What loot would you take if the attacker had no resourses left when attacking.
