I switched the last weeks to another trophybase and tested around.

In my last TH8 days i am back to this farming layout.

This is a revenge from a TH10 with maxed troops.

Dont say that walls doesnt matter. Also maxed troops paying time there ;)

I used Tempest about 95% of my TH8 career. Tempest got me to Masters. I've been using Dominion the last week or two (with great success) to protect my DE as I finished maxing BK and getting the DE for AQ.

Once traps are gone. Sure you win a defence, but next attack will destroy you due to the reliance of traps.

Loved this base at TH8. I made a TH9 version but I know it doesn't compare to the solid TH8 version.
Was tricky with the two extra storages. I don't have the Archer Queen.

Tried this in clan wars to defend. What attacker did:

1) Drop a hog at SE to lure out CC.
2) Drop an archer + hog at NW to lure king and remaining CC.
3) Drop an archer at E to lure them to corner (while attacking the army camp)
4) Finish them off with archers + King level 7 + iron fist.
5) Drop a line of hogs at SE
6) Hogs jump in and run rampage
7) Drop 3x heal
8) I lost 100%

41x Hogs level 2 (including CC)
20x Archer level 5
1x King level 7
3x heal level 5
1x lightning level 5

Should I switch back to Shuriken ?

41 hogs and 4 spells are really not defendable lol.

I am relatively new to CoC and found your design. I absolutely love it. I have the farming variation and the war base variation. I was defeated in the clan war by 10 lvl 3 dragons... My air defenses arent stellar yet but even with low level stuff... the guy made it out with only 2 barely hanging on dragons. LOVE THIS BASE!!! Great work and thank you for sharing!

Your version 2 dominion works really well for me, I had 300k gold that could be taken and the enemy didn't even touch my gold/de. I really recommend it for anyone thats th8. Another great base of yours orz.

Been rn using the base for a week before i finally changed for something new, but I think im gonna get these bad aZZ back coz the looters are driving crazy as to what part of the base are they gonna attack. :)) tough to hold a 3 star especially with tough cc troops at the center (im a hard knock clasher) reason why they only loot a part of my resources. And I believe the mortars are there to destroy troops who are clearing up their way before going into the base' walls. Would the new update of the heroes have any effect of a new placement for the BK on variation 1a/1b? I'm guessing, if so, a storage would have to hang outside the walls.

That's exactly what I am thinking! It's actually very useful now to centralize the Burger King as he can't be lured anymore. However, putting him in the middle means moving a storage out and that makes the layout look weird.

What I ended up doing is putting the Burger King to the right side of the DE storage swapping it with one of the gold storages. I then swapped that gold storage with the elixir storage on the right side and put the elixir storage where the Burger King was originally. This might make the people want to attack the base from the right because of the gold storage that is somewhat exposed but the Burger King is now right behind that gold storage and there are 2 wizard towers overlooking that storage so I think that was the best swap.

I'd be very happy if Orz could make a version 1c with a centralized BK though.

Hey Orz, could you possibly show a video of a better attack? I know its a base design thread, where you want to showcase the design, but I would like to see the base stand up to a decent attack. The video on the main page is basically a giant healer archer attack, with an incompetent attacker that could even lure the CC. I don't know about you but that is no way convincing that the base is good.

This is what I came up, let me know what you think
The below is what I came up with. This leaves the clan castle on the left and puts the Burger King on the right. With the 3rd gold storage now on the right side as well, people may want to attack from the right side but I think the design will hold because of the following:

1-Attacking from the right side without luring the CC will get troops pummeled by the CC troops, Burger King, 2 wizard towers and a mortar while the gold storage is doing the tanking.
2-Luring the CC will most likely require some troops coming in from the left side which will likely require the TH to be taken out first which will either:
- Cost the attacker precious time if using a few troops (i.e. archers)
- Force the attacker to commit a significant amount of troops to take out the TH fast.

I just switched to this base from Shuriken because I am close to maxing out TH8 and I am concentrating mostly on DE and need to keep it. Elixir means nothing to me but DE is everything at this point and I have been getting hit very hard by TH9 for my DE costing me 1.5k DE with every single attack (almost always 10-18 giants with 1-2 healing spells combined with AQ and archers/barbarians).

I got destroyed almost everytime a TH9 attacks, even though these are not the most powerful troops. You have any ideas?

Thats funny cause that is basically what my post is about. I don't think on any of Orz's base threads does he show the base against a decent attack. You have shown a few examples of where you got wrecked with a similar troop comp to that in the video on the first page. Obviously this base needs to be tested against stronger attacks a bit more.

I have been using Shuriken until now (thanks ORZ!) but decided to try something new now that I'm approaching maxxed-TH8).
Made some changes to Dominion 1b, just slightly differently from Vipriel (just because I don't like to have storages outside of the walls): swapped BK with upper gold storage, then gold storage with upper left elixir storage, then elixir storage with the upper archer tower, then archer tower with the upper dark barracks...
Meaning another unprotected archer tower on top, but leaving the elixir storage protected by the wiz tower...
Let's see how this performs!

I am using version 1b for a couple of days now. I am saving DE to upgrade BK to lvl10. The DE storage just went over 20k recently. I try to remain low on gold (anyway less than a million) but I am high on elixir (cannot spend it fast enough)
I have been targeted by a classic lvl6 giants raid... OK, it is probably our destiny as a mere th8... But more recently by a simple BAM from the bottom corner. Once the outer layer is out, AQ comes in supported by heal and rage and takes out the DE storage....CC had a drag and few archers, killed by BAM. BK on the far left did not move.... All splash defences maxed, teslas are lvl6. Only archer towers and cannons are not upgraded yet.
Any suggestions?

This is my first defence with this layout. I am using the 1a variation.
A level 3 dragon was in my CC. Furthermore 2 teslas were upgrading. The rest of the base is maxed out, except the most part of my walls.

Well, you see.. The thing is, I don't need to "prove" that my base is good. I design it, give it a few weeks run and I share it with the forums. I fix up mistakes/make improvements. But the thing is, if you are in any way interested in a base, you will test it yourself.

A successful attack from south (TH8)

One day after switching from Shuriken to Dominion "1c" (BK inside), I was attacked by a TH8-fellow.
I lost bad (99%), but curiously DE storage did not fall (timer out).
I'm still convinced this is a great base layout, but it always hard to lose like this against a TH8.
Anyway, here goes the report:

The guy deployed everything from south, initially failing to lure out my CC archers. Then deployed 12 giants lvl 5 + CC giants lvl 6, six wallbreakers, BK and 10 hogs, aided by 3 healing spells. After that came 10 wizards 5* + 1 pekka...

I just switched to this base from Shuriken because I am close to maxing out TH8 and I am concentrating mostly on DE and need to keep it. Mixed results so far.
My base has lvl 7 walls and all defenses are maxed and operational.

Had 10x lvl 3 drags with 3 rage spells thrown at me and they approached but never touched the de (little luck and terrible dragon logic)

Recently had:
201x lvl 5 archers
1x lvl 1 drag
11x lvl 5 wb
4x lvl 5 lightning
lvl 2 queen
lvl 5 king

Attacked from south side and lightning the mortar and wiz tower, archers proceeded to clean out the bottom third of the base. Queen came in after to blast de with some archers.
Teslas did a great job zapping wb's near core but it was tough to watch.
I should add my CC was filled (25 archers ranging from lvl 3-5).

Thanks for the great base though, we'll see how it continues to hold up

If not, the rearraging the buildings is a good way to put the BK in though :)

Let's test it a bit more!

My 1a farming base has stood up to any attacker unless their th 9. Only time I've lost DE is with high level Archer queens (15+) . Most of the time their giants with heal spells with barbs, archers, etc. behind them. Then the AQ goes to town on the DE.

I been using a slightly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ized version of Dominion V2 farming base. I altered the walls slightly to fit the BK inside so the north walls arent as staggered as they should be. There is a T junction inside between the 2 gold storages. Hopefully any real attackers wont pick up on it. I havnt had a serious assault on my base since starting this layout.

I changed the traps around a little if anyone wants to critique it. The GBs are next to each wiz tower so there could be some good splash damage to mop up when they explode.

Thanks for your TH8 bases, they are great templates.

Ive been using dominion for a while. Great base. My problem is in wars, (using the war setup) I constantly get DECIMATED by large packs of hogs.

Try Tesseract! It is not easy for TH8 to defend against hog attacks, but Tesseract worked for me! (dragons 3-starred me a couple of times, though)

Great farming base! At TH8, I had close to 4 million gold, 5 million elixir, and over 15,000 DE. All my builder huts are being used as well as my laboratory. Someone sniped my TH and that was it! I'll definitely switch to this base often when my resources (especially gold) start to get full.

Well, I'm no longer TH8 unfortunately so I can't share any more logs with you, but I can guarantee you that this base is my most solid design for TH8.

If you do try it out, please do share your experience! I personally used it when I was maxed TH8 and stocking resources for TH9!

This base truly shines if you only have two elixir storages. (Three gold storages minimizes losses when they reach the center. Two elixir storages reduces the area you have to protect, if you don't mind losing a larger percentage when one storage falls.)

I've been working this base and found this configuration.
- Most important storages in the center.
- Elixir storages
  - Protected from first-layer barch attacks.

Dominion is probably my best farmingbbase for TH8 IMO, but really can't help you with a war base! I didn't have much experience with them back in TH8. But I'm sure there's plenty of good war bases in the forums :)

The base looks very good and is very good to protect de but if someone of th9 with high lvl troops ( which is common) attacked you the base will get destriyed from the one side to the middle of the base it means 2 elixar storage and gold and the de storage is not very difficult to raid in this base. But still some modifications in this base can make it very good against balloonion or gowipe or drag or a hog attack.

Unfortunately TH8 does not have the resources to stop TH9 attacks, and by this I mean the AQ and level 6 giants. Unless your CC demolishes the giants, they are going to be running around for a long time. But thanks for the feedback :)

Do you think your base can be adapted to defend against hogs? There aren't really any double giant bombs, so if the defenses aren't maxed, it can get torn apart by even Level 4 Hog Riders.

Ahh, no not really sorry! I'm not into speed building as much :P
However, when building a base, best tip is to start from the core and then move to second layer etc.
It's quite simple once you get started! Don't overwhelm yourself. Place buildings, then walls around them and repeat.

Singularity probably has the biggest resemblance to this base, but I am pretty sure a TH9 version can be easily adapted.

Honestly, as a TH8, i suggest farming in gold league, and there really are barely any hoggers out there! This base is for general farming armies. I don't see how DGB can be adapted without major changes.

As I said the base will be excellent after some modifications. I just tried to do some modification in this base and now I am using this and really I am enjoying watching the giants travelling the whole base and my wizard tower and Tesla burning them. ☺ Now no one dares take my de! 😜

Orz, I really like the design of the Dominion. I am currently using the Tempest(TH8) and don't like how easy attackers can get to 2 of my gold storages without even breaching walls. Any of you that have experience with the Dominion like how it protects gold?? I wish I had the time to read all the comments but I don't! Thanks for taking the time to answer my question!

Hey Orz, may you mind give some comments on my mods to Dominion? I tried to have balanced storage protection as well as high DE protection with AT/Tesla combo for some lethal DPS. Got some nice AD/WT triangulation, though Mortars are heavily exposed. Here's the base, DE storage is positioned in that manner as I currently have less than 5K DE in store:
