The "Deathcore" - A Town Hall 9 Anti-Hog Trophy Base

Introduction
I have been making different bases and testing them out since a long time to find a decent trophy base. There are lots of great bases out there but i was always being 3 starred with them since i'm a TH9 and my defences wasn't really capable to handle those TH10 troops. I wasn't trying to make a base which doesn't lose againts TH10 troops, because it's not possible. I was trying build a base that can prevent me from getting 2 starred all the time. Since i wasn't a maxed out TH9 or anything i decided to focus on my clan castle with making it unlurable. This is why i'm calling this base "Deathcore" since it's based on the power of clan castle. I usually use minions but anyhow, make sure you have a bunch of great troops in your clan castle!

Base's Mission
What this base's purpose is to use clan castle as our main defensive building and use it againts high-level attackers by making it unlurable. CC can not be lured out by pre-attack troops. Attack must have been started for CC to become active. And because of the wide ring of non-defensive building any defense-led troops like hogs will go around the base and crash at the traps and bombs located at four main corners.

The base has been tested from Gold II - Crystal II and it has been performing really well. Let's check out the results.

You can see how hard it is to lure the CC from this attack. Gotten 1 starred anyways :/

It's hasn't been more than 1 starred yet in CW. Besides CW, there have been people who actually tries to lure it, and decides that it's empty and attacks. Give me some feedback if you test it, thanks!

Any way you could try get some defences around C1, as some people in G1 can be a bit careless with hogs, although it looks very good

Thanks for advice. I only go there when i'm in a trophy push with my clan. That might be coming soon so yes will be adding some logs. Thanks for feedback!

Looks good- but I would like to see the difference between defense logs if you went to crystal 1 or masters. You are in Gold 2, which makes it easier.

Currently in Gold 2. There are defense logs up to C2 included. Will go up there in next push.

Well i'm trying to do a farming version, of course you can change the TH with any other defense and adjust some wals but the fact is the storages arent covered that much but i havent see anyone who can reach more then 2 storages yet so sure, give it a go!

Looks like a solid base, I would like to see some replays in master once you trophy push again.
Was wondering, since the CCs radius doesn't reach defenses, do hogs go completely around before the troops come out?

Most people have clean up troops for that and those troops would probably trigger the cc

They would if the attacker doesnt use any clean-up troops.

Personal Modifications:

I felt like the mortar on the bottom would be a waste. It can be taken out easily by Archers or Wizards so I sacrificed my Dark Elixir storage from being in the middle, in order to have all 3 mortars in the core in a triangulated position. I moved the Air Defense and X-bows around but are still in the core. Thoughts anyone? Or OP?

First of all, thanks for your comment. It's great to get a feedback from you. Now, even tough it is a trophy base, i and many people wouldn't want to sacrifice our dark elixir, but increasing the amount of defences is in the core sure is a great idea! I hoping to try it in masters since i only got up to C2 yet. Thanks for your compliments!

Well, it really depends on your defenses level and CC troops.

I like it ! It might try it if I go down in trophies a bit (right now in champs it's better to go for an exposed TH and pray for a single star. Plus, not many hogs here, mostly GoWiWi).
I think the CC radius will definitely help, however, I'm not sure I like the idea of letting the hogs destroy all the defenses before triggering it...
Maybe I'll try to tweak it a little bit to force a trigger during the raid (I loooove seeing my wiz take out 40 hogs in a couple of seconds :D). Not sure how though...

EDIT: Where do most hoggers attack from ? Any tried to break the ring (even though it looks hard to do) ?

First of all, hogs cannot just run around destroy all the defenses on the way due to traps and i haven't seen anyone attacks only with hogs. So you can make sure the CC will do it's job. They attack from almost everyside but mosly from TH side. They have been a few trying to break it, and a couple managed to. But as soon as the hogs go for the center, CC troops killed them.

Quite good base, tried it for my CW yesterday...
It's quite vulnerable to wizard-hog attack though... They wipe the bottom part with wizard and couple of hogs and lure cc out from there... After the bottom part is flat they push hogs to the middle with wizard....Got 2 starred (wizard 6 with rage) but i think it's decent considering they have to use 3 rage to penetrate them

the 4 builder's hut should be closed with walls, otherwise, WB will not aiming at them ----> WB will not aiming at empty closed walls.

Could of sworn I saw MYST7LC using this base.

I will test this base in clan wars for sure.

I tried this base out and it was AMAZING!! Great build. I won 12 defends in the first day off a new league (I broke shield on purpose if I got one) So far I'm like 20-1 on it. The only thing I changed was I moved the defenses to the middle row of the 4 sides that way the archers can't take them out easily. But this is a really good base and I mean it

This base saved my bacon in our clans weekend war.

Was attacked with 10 Level 4 Dragons, 2 freeze, 3 rage and only got one starred at 71%.

I did mix up the SAM a bit around the TH, other than that, no TH9 wanted to touch me.

Interesting looking base. I feel though that the core is so far away that it basically leaves the ring of Defenses to fend for themselves. I like the concept of the basically unlureable CC though:)

First of all man, big fan of you and your channel. Great to have a comment from you! Well other then X-Bows it's true that the ring will defend itself but most people will use clean-up troops and while defense-led troops do a mary-go-round the clean-up troops will be cleaned by the center and the defense led troops will eventually die.

Nice thread layout bud! Lots of effort went into putting all the info together clearly, very nice.

The base design looks solid for sure, central CC can cause lots of trouble for an attacker, extremely annoying! I like the positioning of the main defences such as xbows, mortars

I figured id give this base a shot in our clan war. Im a brand new th9 with the 2 lvl 1 xbows but otherwise th8 deffenses.

a th10 got a 48% no star =)

He used a pekka, like 5 lvl 4 dragons, bunch of lvl 6 wizards, a few lvl 5 hogs, bunch of archers both hero's and all spells.

Ok, so I copied this base for CW and I got 1 star'd 55% damage. Two hogs were able to make to the core through the keft (west) side of the base. Also, the attacker set off one of the giant bombs in the right (east) side of the base. If this giant bomb was not set off, both bombs would've taken out more than 10 hog riders. The attacker used a healing spell right after. The attacker could've easily of not gotten anywhere close if that initial giant bomb was not set off. Grrrrrrr :mad: Also, as for the unlurable CC, I had 5 level 5 barbs, 12 level archers and 2 level wizards which took care of all of the 12 wizards the attacker came with. :D Overall, this first attack was a success even though I would've loved to see all those hogs get taken out, if not for the initial giant bomb being set off. I will be moving the giant bomb next CW. I can't wait to get attacked again and see the result! Thanks again OP!

Hey man, sweet base!!

Hey hey, maybe u should switch up the first giant bomb (right side) in front of the cannon to the back (where the other 2X2 space is) so it cant be triggered by a well paced hog. Also you should switch 1 GB for a builders hut on the left side of your base (swap those).

I'll be using this base again for the next clan war. It starts in 2 hours. I rearranged the giant bomb placement and put my storages more on the outside so those barbs can get stuck slashing away. The clan we are going up against seems to be really active and have some high end bases. I'll report back with findings

I am going to use it for clan wars. I mostly get attacked by hogs in the war, so i have a doubt-

As the cc is unlurable(props to you) but what if it gets attacked by hogs, they will run around destroying the ring and the cc troops won't come out until they have 1 starred already.

Ok, so I got one attack but this guy really sucked at attacking. He didn't lure any of heroes or even try to lure out my cc. All of his hogs didn't bass the first spring traps or my first double giant bombs. I would say that this was not a good test. Here is the screenshot.

Horrible result. Guy didn't even lure and only used pathetic L3 hogs and still managed a near 50% score. Would have been an easy 3-star with maxed troops and a solid player.

No wonder the OP has already changed bases and left this one in the dirt.

The OP has posted many successful defenses against maxed and near maxed troops, i fail to see how this 1 defense warrants such a negative reaction.

Another feedback... Very vulnerable to mass dragon..... Just got 3 starred by mass drag lv 3 they attack from lower right and drag come straght to center wiping cc troops and ad....
