Clan Wars - Please allow us to put together our own team of warriors.

Good day,

As a (co)leader I would very much like to be able to pick a team of warriors from my clanmates and go to war
with that team, instead of almost the entire clan.

Just like many people, I really like my clan. Most of them donate well, they are friendly and active in the chat,
and, even more important, some I've known for months now and they became friends. However... many of those
friends are terrible at war attacks. Or even defense. I don't hold that against them, and I'm certainly not going
to kick them out of the clan just because of that, but it does not promote going to war. In fact, we have gone
down from as often as possible to only once a week. And that weekly war has become more of a fun thing, than
a serious battle for the glory and profits of the victory.

If (co)leaders can pick their own warriors to take in to battle (rounded down to a multiple of 5), then this will not
only increase the number of wars, but it will make people want to perform better so they get picked next time.
It will also give certain members a higher status in the clan because they belong to the warrior team.

The following is entirely optional, but I think it would be a nice idea to have the warriors bring home the spoils
of war and have the entire clan benefit from that. In other words, increase the reward for a victory, have the warriors
themselves take a percentage that is equal to the current takes in a war and devide the remaining loot among
the people who stay at home, who tend to the wounded and wash our blood soaked clothing.
I'm pretty sure the victors will be welcomed with a large feast and glorified in songs, long to be heard.

Sorry I am against this idea. Why should Leaders/Co-Leader pick and choose the participants. This can be abused and unfair to the members who actually want to participate. -1, sorry

Because if you want to win a war, you will basically have to kick everybody who doesn't do well in wars.
And as I mentioned, many of those people can be friends or good clan members in other areas.

People who want to participate have to prove themselves and if they show that they can attack like a boss,
they should be allowed to join the warrior team. If they think they do well, but the leaders don't, they can move on
to a clan that does put them in a war.
Just like people who currently move on to another clan that actually has wars. And then find out that most
of the participants suck, and then move on to another clan, etc. etc.

I am completely agree with this suggestion.
I had the same idea since the birth of the CLAN WARS.
There are a lot of reasons why a clanmate can't partecipate to a war: not only because he is an awful warrior and he doesn't even know how to draw his sword, but maybe he is not ready, maybe he is a pacifist, maybe he is busy in his real life for those two days, maybe he just don't want to go to war... in all of these cases, he has only to say: "Hey Chief, please let me out this time!", without the need to go outside the clan. It would be great!

I was talking in general. Leaders/Co-leader should not dedicate to a member if they are in/out of a clan war, that member has their own choice.

Maybe, but I think instead of choosing your own teams, I think the clans should be divided into sections by skill (trophies). But, like you said, this may not work because some may be only good at attack, and some may only be good at defense.

Yeah.

Why can't you just be honest about it?
We tell people to watch others replays because they don't know what the hell they are doing all the time.

It's much better than being passive/aggressive about it, and just moaning about them.

Some pick up there game (great) and some go (that's fine too)

We are a large clan of about 45 members. We generally have about 10 newcomers walking in and out. In our current war, over 5 people left the clan before putting in their attacks. That's 10 attacks missing from the total count. I think that's a very valid reason to let us pick our own war-team within the clan.

Also, and I think this is going to hurt Supercell, I suspect that many players are currently walking around because they got kicked from their clan for sucking at war attacks. If that happens a few times, I can even see those people quitting the game. It's just not nice to know when you're unwanted. I'm pretty sure Supercell does not want that to happen.

So, on top of what I mentioned earlier, I think those are another two very valid reasons to let us pick our own war-team.

this idea is not bad imho.

many clans are creating a "war clan" to do the same, but this is really confusing.Many other clans need to kick out players that are on holyday or inactive.

In my opinion this idea can help a lot.

Don't forget that an entire clan can be picked for going to war. I don't really see a negative side to it.

I am the leader of my clan, Morgan Freeman. We used to host around 40-45 members before Clan Wars. After Clan Wars, we dropped to about 30 members and we've stayed this way ever since. We don't have many people join or leave. We keep it this way because we have found that having only 30 people war still makes it manageable to handle all 30 and make sure they attack, prepare their war base, etc. We had 10 people join for 1 war, and like other people said, by the end 5 had left. That's the only war we lost, which was by 2 stars.

In our clan, we don't want to jump to 40 members again. We like our 30 because those are trusted members we like. We feel as though you shouldn't be allowed to war right away, but should have to show that you're loyal and earn it. If this was implemented, we could put that policy into effect to stop people from joining and leaving.

Another problem we've had is inactive members not using their attacks and/or members that do not want to participate. We war every Monday and Friday, and for some people, they only want to war Fridays. They have to drop their trophies all the way to the bottom to sit out. Being able to control who's in or out would really help out.

This idea gives power to the leaders that they should have. Ok so what if your leader abuses it? What can you do. Oh that's right LEAVE. Any good clan has a good leader who would not abuse his power, but make sure that it's given to those who deserve it. If you don't like their decision, LEAVE and find a better clan. Tons of great clans out there.

Now I know Supercell is probably going to ignore this, but I hope one day they can see our pleas for help. Help us make a better clan war and give us the ability to be successful.

So basically what you're saying is that you want to enjoy the max loot that others secure by winning the war?
I can see why you wouldn't like the idea of not being able to go to war with them.

The way it's setup now will result in many players being kicked from one clan after the other, just because they don't perform well in wars. I think Supercell, like any company, is trying to secure their profits. As soon as they notice a stagnation or even decline in players, they will certainly want to correct that. I have good hopes for this option being implemented.

We are dealing with the same problem. We will have 4 or 5 to join and then leave after war begins. Either let us pick who goes to war or when they leave then let them take their a abandoned war base with them. We are kicking everyone that does not attack twice in war.

I would just like to say that I love this idea. I, like many of the other people who have commented before me, are a Leader in my clan, and have had this exact thought prior to reading this article. The freedom and ability to control who is selected for clan wars is something that I love. There have been times where I was in clans in which I, at one time or another, did not really want to participate in a clan war since everyone was so much better than me, and at the time i valued my trophies to the extent that I refused to drop them low enough so that I could be removed from the clan war. But now that I am your average clash of clans player, And I thoroughly enjoy partaking in the antics of clan wars.

Now like so many others before me have stated, one of the things that I hate most are when people join your clan, but then once they see you start a clan war the leave, and that just infuriates me. I would like the ability to decide whether or not this person has been loyal for long enough that I can trust them to attack in the clan war instead of just hoping they won't decide to leave. Having the capability to do this type of thing would be invaluable to me and I deeply covet the ability to select who should be in the war.

Yet at the same time I see the points that the opposition is making, this is an ability that would be abused so easily by co-leaders and leader, and will most likely be abused if this is added to the game. Regardless of this fact, the value of being capable of doing such things is something that you will be hard pressed to find an equal. Still if you find yourself being purposefully withdrawn from a multitude of clan wars then you can give the Leaders/ Co-leaders of your clan an ultimatum. For example you can tell them that either they put you in the war or you can find yourself a new clan. it has been stated before, if the power is being over used or abused and worst comes to worst because they have either not responded to your ultimatum or chosen the option you did not desire, well then you can go ahead and find yourself a new clan in which you will be selected or not selected depending upon whichever you would like to have happened.

Overall this is a spectacular idea in theory and I fully support this proposal

I agree 100%. I was just thinking about this. We just created a feeder clan because we have so many crappy members ruining our wars because they are only there for loot.

Being in the war should be earned, being a bad member should have consequences other than immediate booting. Our clan should be protected from war loot seekers that don't care about anything else.

I hope this made the feature list for a future update. I'd really like to not have a feeder clan and the ability to choose who fights would be perfect.

Its sad this was suggested in April and its not even on the features list yet. Supercell can't possibly be ok with the damage being caused to wars and clans by not having this ability.

People who are leaching off of the hard work of others should absolutely not have a say in if this feature is added. If added, good clans will use appropriately and it will spark motivation to improve and allow us to keep members who we just can't keep if we want to compete in wars.
