The one thing that eludes me in the game.

Dark Elixir!

I consider myself to be an okay farmer. My gold grab is just a tad bit shy of 600 million.
However, My Heroic Heist is only 620k.

I'm a new town hall 10, my king and queen are lv 11 and 9 respectively and I still need to upgrade Minion (lv5), Golem (lv1), Witch (lv1) and valkyrie (lv2).

I've played comfortably going after gold and taking dark elixir as it comes along.

Is it time for me to change my farming ways? stop using BARCH and start using balloonians perhaps on people in master league?

What are the secrets of obtaining the elusive resource?

I just stop using dark troops when I need to get DE - I'm in the same boat as you, I have had TH10 for about a month.
Having 3 DE drills definitely makes a bit of a difference. I am actually just using Hogs atm because I need elixir for my camps.

whats your cup your range? 95% of my de came from barch. Maybe you are too low?

I've had my drill upgrading since I got to TH10. Funnily enough I stop using dark troops too and it does help.

Just wondering how so many people get so much of the stuff. I've heard people complain about the storage being capped at 200k. I've never even seen 100k in my storage in my time playing the game. How are these guys doing it? lol

I'm like you though, I need to upgrade my elixir stuff first. But would love to know how people are getting so much dark elixir, seemingly with ease.

Chilling out at 1600-1800.

I know I should probably go higher and i'm on my up now as my clan is pushing.

Many experienced farmers use balloons/minions. I tried it for a week, found it to be a nice change of pace and was fun,but wasn't optimal for me. A few ppl in my mains clan farm as low as you, but they succeed on amazingly high volume of attacks. Try barch in c3 or c2 for a week and see if it is sustainable and optimal for you perhaps.

Okay, so there is good at farming and then there is ridiculous, haha.

I see a good link is given.

For a shortened down version, and what I use personally is two ways;

1: Go to 2600+, use balloons and 2 dragons, make a path clear for minions/dragon to crack the de sorage, saving some minions to hit de pumps.

2: Stick around 2000-2599. I use a simple army comp to crack de storages for 2-4k de a time;
16 giants
12 wbs
4 wizards ( don't always need to use them )
40 barbs rest archers
cc: wizards

I pack a couple rage with both just in case, 1 heal, 1 lightning for cc troops.
