I recently heard about the BAM strategy from my clan mates, but I don't know what the preferred composition is. I have level 5 barbs and archers and level 4 minions, along with 220 troop capacity. How much of each should I make?and with what spells (I can carry up to 4)?

In my experience, having only 10-20 minions severely minimizes the effectiveness of the BAM strategy. I prefer 30-35 Minions, otherwise they simply feel like a waste of troop space as they die very quickly in small groups, even at higher levels.
and you do not need 2 rax making barbs. all they are is a meat sheild. screen them in front of the archers. you will do way more damage with 1 rax making barbs, 3 making archers and 2 dark rax making minions. just keep all the rax filled up after every attack and attack when rdy. dont complicate things with wallbreakers. if you need to break a wall use the BK's rage ability or a spell. you should be aiming for collector raids.
I use 80/80/30 and I have 4 rage spells. I normally at most ever only use one rage spell
honestly the army should be composed of 25% minions 25% barbarians and 50% archers, minions are less of a main force and more of a 1 star guarentee or just storage rush. Just always rember to check for an air bomb if your using any sorta huge amount.
For gold farming : 2 barrack barbs 2 barrack archers and 30-40 minions with 2 heals and 2 rages (I find heal is quite useful)
For both gold and DE farming : 2 barrack barbs 2 barrack archers and 20 minions with 4 light or 2 rages and 2 heals
If you produce too much barbs, add some archers in the first barrack.
BAM is also possible for DE farming if you don't use minions every time.:)
Sometimes wall breakers are useful even though I rarely use them. Carry about 4 of them is fine.
What I do for training Bam is 1 barrack training all barbs and 3 barracks training all archers. And I ALWAYS bring 22 minions, so train 11 minions in each of the 2 dark barracks
