I don't mind newbies giving me lvl 1 barb cuz they are new to the game anyway. But when I request for troops, I always state what I want. @OP, you should do that too, and be a teensy bit grateful that newbies are donating to you, even if it isn't too much.

That's not that bad. I usually try not to depend on the clan castle troops and I try to view them as extras.
but I do hate it when people request but don't donate
This lvl 23 kid joined our clan and keeps donating me lvl 2 goblins.
Everytime he does it, it makes me laugh cos I imagine some dude attacking my base and wondering why the hell there's goblins attacking HIM!!! lol
If you accept lower level players to join then you cant blame them that they donate the troops they have.
I don't mind when they donate low level barbs. (level 3 is the lowest in our clan)
But a clan leader that donates giants would be for me a reason to seek a different clan.
I absolutely love it when I get a lvl 1 troop donation.
Someone willing to donate his lvl 1 troops will be a donator for life. Keep him in the clan and nurture his base along and soon enough he will not be able to donate lvl 1 troops anymore.
Fostering the habit of freely donating is always worth the pain in the beginning.
Our clan like many others have a monthly donation minimum that every member has to meet in order to stay in the clan. I told the clan leaders that I usually only donate to those that have troops that are at a lower or same level as mine in order not to annoy the higher level members. I was reprimanded for not donating to anyone that asked regardless of level differences. So...I donated some level 3 troops to one of the clan leaders (level in the upper 80s) and got made fun of and was told never to give him such low level troops again. Sigh...can't win for losing...:(
