Ten somewhat unusual clash of clans strategy tips for the advanced player

nice tips. i like this thread very much. although, i have to disagree with number 2 and 9. for the xbows, i think its ok to leave them balanced like (1 facing up and the other one down)... or if you get ballooned a lot, both facing up. otherwise you can set them both down if your AD's are leveled up high enough (6 or higher) and placed at the core. for the small bombs, i think they are also effective. putting them inside and into some sweet spots can kill archers, barbs and goblins. sure they are not effective against giants and stuff but the point here is that at least they damage the units and at the end of the day, all you want to see is attackers failing to loot your base.

Huh? I *did* mention the blocking of healing. It is right there in the block you quoted.
I assumed the blocking of healing is true for both multi and single mode (you seem to be suggesting it only works in multi mode?). So the values in the table are true irrespective of healing spells.

But I think what you are getting at this that 30 hogs under a healing spell are hard to withstand without an inferno tower on multi. The 12 extra seconds it takes an inferno on single to get rid of 5 of them will indeed likely be devastating.

Good effort for making this thread :) but for the 2) it depends on what players prefer, and their base design
But i totally disagree with the point on the traps, big bombs are the best weapons th9 have against hogs, a group of 6 max mini bombs can be effective too. And not upgrading seeking air mines because it cannot os a drag is as if you were saying not to upgrade a defense anymore because it cannot os a certain troop. Upgrading may not bring such a difference for you but it can help other defences to kill that said dragon or allow to finish a drag which would have survived a weaker seeking air mine (still shouldn't be a priority to upgrade of course)

Edit: you should precise luring the queen isn't necessary till a certain level

No, this cannot be compared for two reasons
1) the SAM has only a single shot, while regular defences can shoot until the job is done
2) you have to pay for the SAM to be reloaded after usage, and higher levels cost more

So the long-term economics become important. If the air mine shoots balloons 9 out of 10 times, than a lvl 1 is sufficient, and you don't care about the incidental dragon that passes by. It is a better deal to only have to reload lvl 1 air mines.
If you are constantly attacked by dragons, then yes, I would upgrade them as well.

Since I have been TH9 (which is when you can upgrade SAM), I have rarely seen dragons. So I decided not to upgrade my SAMs.

How true is OP's tip #6? Has the math been done on this? I'm currently TH7 and nexting costs, I think around 350g (I don't remember), and I only go for 150k and up in the resources I need at the moment, which is mostly gold.

How do you do that? Balloons go after defenses if any are still active --- I've never had a bal go after cc troops.....

seriously, why do so many people set their xbows to air when an archer tower actually does more damage. the only thing xbow has going for it is it huge range. a 14 radius circle covers 616 tiles while a 11 radius circle covers only 380 tiles. the difference is huge.
