pointless to have a centralized CC if troops can still be lured out by a giant

have come across many th8 designs and they all have a centralized (if not semi) CC
the problem is, even if the CC is in the middle of the base, the range of it still reaches beyond the walls. which means the enemy can lure the troops out with one giant.
well, in that case, the centralized CC serve nothing more than a meat-shield in the middle of the base to slow the enemy down a little bit.

the fact is that at TH8 one doesnt have many choices. i have tried my best to design solid th8 bases that can also prevent troops from luring out(one works 360 degree, another about 270(which is unexpected))

they worked well against casual attackers who use only giants to lure(if they did lure), but if he is smart enough to use two wallbreakers or hogriders at the same time, the whole plan just break apart and CC troops will get out.

Well then its pointless to have a centralized TH if it can be three starred.

And one giant is 5 spaces. That is 5 spaces going waste or more if your defences shooot it down quickly. Use a cc against hogs then you will agree

TH8 can be 3 stared in so many ways even without luring the CC out, it's just part of the game. At TH7 the CC can be lured out by a barb.

It's better to still have it centralized, because the raider has to use better troops to trigger the cc reducing his firepower, do you prefer seeing somebody wasting hogs to trigger the cc or using a single archer?

you may need a giant or a couple of wallbreakers if it's designed to anti-luring. i am talking about my base when i was at th7, and the best thing about it was that in the direction 90% of the attackers went, even if the first cannon was under attack the troops just wont come out, which left the attacker the impression that there were no troops in CC and they could deploy all his giants at once.

Put your def in up outside or tesla outside but near your other active defense!

it's not about being 3 stared by higher lvl. or unusual troops like mass dragen.

we came across this base in CW and one of our guys' giants got shredded within seconds cuz he couldt lure the troops with a bar.

better lost one giant than 15, what do you think?

Are you telling people not to centralize their CC because it's pointless? If that's what you're saying, I hope everyone listens to you. It would make my life easier when I raid LOL

the difference between a CC that is nowhere near the center and a centralized CC whose range reaches beyond the walls is trivial, you might want a centralized anti-air or mortar for better coverage of hot spots.

That picture is an ideal example of when to lure the CC with a giant instead of a barb. I don't see how your clan mate's giant would have gotten shredded so quickly by that base unless they had a lvl 3 or below giant.

with that pic i meant he tried his best to lure the wizards out with bars so he failed and started the main assault in desperate. if he used giants, he will get 2 stars with ease.
someone attacked my anti-lure th8 base today and he used 2 giants and 2 hogs to lure my troops. th8s dont get this honor very often at this trophy range(1600) so even if my troops are dead i think its worthy to make sure the they cant be lured without a fight.

you can have a centralized clan castle... put in the middle and put every building around that and surround all that with walls.

ok I see what you mean now.

I agree, that TH8s that can manage to design a base that requires 2 giants and 2 hogs just to lure CC troops is going to help you win some defenses, especially at 1600 trophies.

for th8 and below, i would say that its hard to make a base with a centralized CC and so to say "un-lurable". we just lack walls. with a th9 and 250 walls, you can make a base that has a centralized cc plus that fact that its hard to lure out. although what the previous guys said, in gold 1 or higher, people are smarter when it comes to luring. they would probably use 1-2 hogs to lure or as you said giant wall breaker. but then we have to go back to the basics and understand why we want to have a centralized cc. for me, having a centralized cc would mean that they would have to use a lot of troops to lure everything out. having a centralized cc is way better than having the cc near the side or corner as it would only use up 1 giant, barb or arch to lure everything out. by doing this, you waste your opponent in using troops and he would be forced to deploy everything thus pressuring him and hopefully he doesn't completely loot everything.

Is this a Clan Wars question? If so, centralized clan castle gives me problems I have to deal with using multiple troops instead of 1.
In regular attacks under 1800, I find about 50% of clan castles to be empty, so if it is easy to lure, I try. But if its in the middle and I'm farming, I take my chances it might be empty. So having it centralized would certainly help someone defending against farmers who aren't bringing giants and hogs.

Well look at the positives they have to get ALL! Of the troops out then they have to kill them which wastes time and troops so it's better to have it than not to have it

I don't value a centralized clan castle as much as others as a TH8.

I do like it to defend some of the base. I two starred more than one base in Clan Wars without luring the CC troops.

And I try to make the side the CC troops can be lured out, just somewhat stronger than the other, with two Hidden Tesla's defending that side for example.

I have a TH7 Mini, a white flag base, and CC can not be lured by a barb.

Dont get your point. My TH8 bas e is only lurable from two sides because of funneling.
Normally it takes three giantess or two hogs to lure the whole CC. That are 10-15 hs and another 30 hs to kill CC-troops.

That means a skilled attacker only has 160 (at th8) or 180 hs (at th9) left.

With a crapload of archers in the CC you can force the attacker to use multiple giants to fully lure the clan castle. It also takes more time so it doesn't seem pointless to me to have centralized CC.

He couldn't lure with a barb on those mines and collecters?

The south side is open. Army camps, mines, collectors - everything will trigger the CC

Two hogs will lure most any TH 8 CC fully as long as the hogs are deployed in the right area (lower multiple damage/high damage hits).

It's still nice as others have said to centralize and make them waste a few troops to lure and dispose.:D

And in special to make them loose time. We All know the time is the biggest problem against equal enemys in cw.
