i think that once your third morter is complete you should probably find space in there for it - my worry is there is only one line of defence - albeit a very thick one - you will have no problems with noobs but if i were attacking you i'd take out the unprotected stuff for 30 secs then distract your defences with a few barbs and then focus on one of the corners
but nice base none the less

what i mean about the one line of defence is that you only have one line of defence, once they are in then they have won. You could instead have a circles inside circles defence so once the attacker breaks the first wall the attacking troups will go left and right instead of ahead.
Take a look at my design above and you will see what i mean - mine is not perfect but that's the style i mean.

You are right i gemmed th9 and xbow that was back in my cups are important days, now i'm paying the premium.
The elix balls are easy to get to on purpose, i have such an excess i don't mind losing it...i'm hoping that because it is so easy to get to that an attacker will view that as more attractive a target and divide their attack. But you are right that flank is weaker for the gold.
