I think he's not talking about joo joo. He's trying to say that maybe there's some code in the game that when you purchase gems, it automatically modifies your "loot matchmaking" so it becomes harder to find "good loot".

Interesting, and not impossible to believe. I have never purchased gems. I used in-game gems for 3rd and 4th builders. Then I didn't use gems (outside of 1 gem boost) for about 6 months. I also didn't get a gem box until the maintenance, making me start thinking conspiracy theory - were they not giving me a gem box because they knew I was not a gemmer and wouldn't be enticed? But when I boosted two barracks on a Tuesday night for the first time ever, the very next day I had my second gem box...
