Why are there loot penalties?
Before i address this from my understanding loot penalties are penalties that affect how much resources you can steal or can be stolen from you. This makes it a lot harder to get resources with each progressive town hall level. obviously there is more to it than i understand but for basic purposes of having everyone on the same page that is my quick definition (you can expand on this later in a post if you feel so inclined:p)
So, to start off i'd like to say i have no real problem with some sort of loot penalties in fact i encourage a level of them, but what they are now is just ridiculous. Ya i know they have penalties to protect newer players and for various marketing purposes. Yet, it seems to me to make more sense to protect the mid to higher level players from such harsh penalties because they are most likely to spend more money on gems. granted i'm not a developer and have no idea what types of players actually buy gems. All i'm saying is i feel there can be a compromise between protecting the new players while providing a fun game for the older players who are now being screwed over.
to delve into this issue a little more i have to bring up the argument of whether the developers are being greedy or not. Honestly i'm of the persuasion that it is there game and they can create it how ever they want and everyone just has to deal with it (i'm mostly of this opinion because its the fact of the game and no amount of complaining is going to change it). so that is my opinion you can think what ever you want. I just ask that you guys try to keep the post professional below instead of turning it into an argument regarding this issue.
but what i will say is is this. I really do have a problem with the town hall being the basis for the loot penalties. Here is where i'm coming from. Since I've started looking at the forums a week ago i have run into countless stories where people have spent hundreds of dollars quickly leveling up their town hall. (they do this cause no where does it say anything about loot penalties that crush there hopes and dreams:() Now they literally have to quit playing (or only focus on their collectors) because they can't get enough resources to level up their troops to win fights. I will really quickly say this to me as a cry for change. I mean how hard would it to mention that loot penalties are present or just to base the loot penalties off actual level so that players who upgrade quick can still find fights among there own levels.
Every time i read these stories it makes me wonder if the developers even care or are just happy they got another paycheck. (yes i understand this is a business and they need to make money but if someone is willing to pay hundreds of dollars to get a quick level 9 town hall don't you think there probably going to buy more later on... i digress.) I also feel they just don't care because of how many stories like this I've read it seems to be an epidemic. I mean at the very least they could mention that there are penalties for leveling the town hall like i mentioned before.
So what is my purpose in posting this... well best case scenario a developer sees it and actually decides to do something about it. (i find this highly doubtful) But at any rate at least someone addressed it because i haven't seen to many posts about loot penalties and warnings. So i guess i'd just like to see the communities views on this. If anyone has any real ideas how to get the developers attention to address this i would be happy to hear them because personally these penalties have just become ridiculous and have just gotten worse with recent updates.

Hey I'm maxed th8 (115/225skulls only though) and I'm upgrading to th9 without fear because,in my defence list while I have full storages and empty collectors I have seen all th9 steal 300k gold from me and when I revenge them at full storages there is 350k in there so no big deal I see because th9 don't need much to prevent th8 from 100% them if I don't use hogs which is rare! Also most th9s with full storages are farmers who I only find in my defence list with th outside and hardcore online time so I never get to revenge them anyway!
Anyway im tired of the crying about loot penalties meaning a difference of 50k loot possible between th8-9 comparing th8 attacking/defending against th9 so I can't actually see the unfair part as th9 has one more storage and better army/defence so they should honestly have 25% more available loot butbut instead they are harder to raid and harder to get all loot and th8 get less loot from 3 th9 storages then th9 gets from th8 (counting at max loot available)!
So now to make you guys happy I have a good way to stop all the weird complaining and balance out two parts of complaining people! Make the loot penalty change by th and trophy range as a combination, meaning forexample:
Th10: 0% at champion and 5%*difference in level of th more penalty per league area that they step down (ex:crystal 1-3 masters-3)
Th9: 0% at master and 5%*diff th more penalty per league area
Th8: 0% penalty at crystal and same counting!
Now this is just example numbers but in fact I think it's the only way to make people want to farm at "their highest possible farm league" and make people happy about the loot and maybe preemies can farm with a small penalty but avoid the hard core farmers with max troops! Meaning farming will become more then just low leagues noob farm with th outside but instead even more strategy and with additional options!
