Well it doesnt really matter that you usually dont loose much resources because that doesnt change the fact that 1 attack is better then 10. Every base is beatable, especialy since you leave yourself open to revenge all the time where people have alot more time to figure out how to beat it. You havent actually made a single point on why it would be better to keep it inside other then that you have good def, and thats not an argument :)
My layout sucks because i havent bothered to make a good design since my old base got useless with the new wb ai, i just boxed up untill I find the time. That doesnt change the fact that i pretty much never loose any gold because im always keeping a builder free for walls and empty my gold into them every night and as soon as i log off some noob gives me a shield. I break it as soon as I log off but it always comes back :) If your saving up for xbow then why would you possible think its a good idea to not have a shield?
And i go where the easy loot is, and i dont go for the kill by choice, i try to keep it below 50% but i dont need to do that every time since i dont gain useless trophies during the night.
All in all, i dont think anyone could come up with an argument that its good to protect your th unless youre going for trophies simply because there isnt one.

LOL RAPED BY TH, video dedicated to XenapZ
Lol, this is EPIC! Strategically place TH can be a pain in the ♥♥♥. It's not as black and white as inside or outside. If you are going up against another farmer, we can care less about your TH at some far off corner. In fact, we are happy it's out of the way, so that we can go straight for the resources.
I have actually contemplated this for some time, the difference is fairly minimal, I find placing your TH outside makes you get attacked more often, and maybe you don't lose so many resources but it's annoying, I'd rather only get attacked by serious attackers, most of the time I am able to get a shield without losing many resources anyways and I keep my TH locked away good and tight. The chances are if the attacker didn't get give me a shield then he didn't take any resources, if he did take resources then he gave me a shield, regardless of my TH being inside or outside... and if I do lose max take resources to someone, then Well Done to them they deserve it, it doesn't happen all that often.
And just on the: "it takes a lot of walls that could be used better", point, I notice a lot of people have not adjusted to the new wall breaker AI mechanics, double walls these days are pretty pointless the increased AoE range on the wall breakers means you break through that double wall just as quick as a single.
All things considered whether your TH is inside or outside makes little difference if you are farming IMO the only time I would actually consider it being a benefit is if you are not really farming and just saving up with your collectors, cause then you are actually using that cheap shield.
I'm a farmer. I move TH "inside" when there are too many defensive building in upgrade, anyway TH have more HP.
I'm not a fan of placing TH in the central of base, it should be place side base, or strategically place outside nearby walls or be partially covered by walls.
One of the good thing is i'll have an interesting videos rather than some boring vid : ), help me to improve my base as wells.
Resource lost, occasionally it happen. In a game, we raid and suppose to be raided. If lost to much then it's time to change.
You should learn more from Art of war by Sun_Tzu :), btw a real farmer they would go for easy target than like my village, because they know it's hard to get my resources and they will next my village, for a trophy hunter they say to me : thx for TH outside! and other noobs try daily to get my resources:rolleyes:
