For instance, If I want to donate somebody 2 barbarians, a Valkyrie and then 2 more barbarians, will they come out of the clan castle 2/1/2 if someone attacks that base?

In the order the barracks troop que is placed. In your situation, the 4 barbs would come out, following with the Valkyrie.
Is there any advantage in war to put a mixture of troops? I notice that some troops come out first, then others, and finally others at the end -- what causes this to happen and how can it be used as an advantage..?
Pretty sure troops que in alphabetical order as well.
Barbarian, Archer, Wizard, Dragon, Valkyrie
Not only do they come out according to the troop queue. But also by level of troop.
eg; CC compostition: 2x lvl 3 barbs, 4x lvl 4 barbs, 4x lvl 4 archers, 1 lvl 3 wizard
the 2x lvl 3 barbs will exit 1st, followed by the 4x lvl 4 barbs then the archers and so on...
