How do your clan mates communicate, outside Clan Chat?

I'm a clan leader. Sometimes we have conversations that don't work well-enough in the chat-room format of the Clan Chat feature.

For example, I currently use a spreadsheet to track members' participation in the clan (in Clan Wars, in donations). I would like to make that available to my members, so that they will "see what I see" when I am thinking about booting a deadbeat. (And if I got something wrong, I would like someone to be able to give me a heads-up about that.)

Obviously can't do that in Clan Chat!

And sometimes we have long-ish discussions (of clan policy for example) that can get hard to follow, in chat, as people come and go.

I have heard that some clans use private FaceBook groups for inside-the-clan communications. Some of my members staunchly refuse to use FaceBook, though.

Is anyone using anything else -- that is free and that is easy to set up?

We've got a family with four clans plus our "chill" clan, so five total. We use glassboard. It's an app and a website. Great for immediate communication among clans and between clans. Except for when there is a lag. Which seems to be happening more and more often.

Glassboard and some use kik.

Same me for us. we also use kik to deal with other clans and handle new members and have conversations between leaders

Our clan uses MessageMe you dont have a certain limit to group chats which is good..

Our clan uses Glass board and it works well conveying messages photos and videos.

Another one for Glassboard here - we have 2 groups, a 'General Chat' area and a 'Team Management' one too.

it works really well and its far more flexible with the ability to share pics and URLs.

Our clan elders and above use an app (both iOS and android) called Line, It's made by Japanese creators enabling videos to voice recordings in group chats no limits. Only thing that you can pay for is I think a sticker set(never use em)

We have a clan Facebook page. Works very well as not only is the messenger facility useful but there's the option to post pictures of bases, videos of raids and votes on rules/issues.

It's probably not appropriate for a clan with kids in or one with high turnover but we're a relatively settled group of 50.

We used to use glassboard but we've switched over to GroupMe now, we've found it to be nicer to use and it allows private messages. :)

Like KiK / GroupMe, it allows for us to communicate privately w/ one another, as well as create chat groups.

But in addition to that, we can create photo albums to organise our (ok fine, my) silly memes / raid screenshots;
notes that we can sticky into the group for an ongoing discussion;
send / receive videos / voice recordings;
and it also allows us to make VOIP calls to one another (a feature which can also be disabled).

There's a smartphone app & a PC / Mac app as well.

Only downside that I can think of is that once you switch your phone / log out of the app, you lose your chat history
(though for some reason, the history on my Mac never seems to disappear).

Oh, and of course, there are stickers (think of them as super big & expressive emojis)
- lots and lots of them.

Like Glassboard, used to use a FB group but like you said some refuse to use it. And kik is too one on one.

Great to see top clans use this as well and yes sticker spam all the way, getting 999 new messages after not checking for 4 days (holiday) is another discussion I missed.

I've been to a few strong clans for long periods of time.... And most of them use kik or have their own website.
I have also used Palringo but I guess they're all the same thing really.:)

I've got to check out line apparently! My only gripe with glassboard are the times when there is a lag. Because when there is a lag, grrrrr!

We have 5 clans total so glassboard has been great for keeping us all in touch. One board for everyone, one for Leaders/Elders of each clan, & one for all Leaders/Co-leaders of all clans (we call it the Admin Board - great to discuss high level stuff & make sure all clans are on the same page).

Oh, almost forgot that we have a banned board that is accessible only to all Leaders/Elders too. It's a great way to get the word out immediately if someone was a bad clanmate & should not be accepted into any of the clans. Banned from one clan, banned from all. It's saved us a ton of time & hassle.

Never heard of glass board... Once the clan gets bigger and has people i do not know I.R.L. then we may start trying that.

Right now though, the whopping 8 members of my clan are all friends on FB or another un-related forum, so i just messege them with stuff.

PS: We need a few more clan members..... nice folks, not pushy or impatient please.

I can't find line. Any idea if it's available outside Japan?
