Shield activated after resources stolen

Today I wasn't online for most time of the day. I was bussy with other stuff. When I came back online I noticed that 2 people had attacked me. One had stolen 200k+ elixer and the other about the same. They didn't get any stars and I didn't get any shield. My idea is that after people steal so much resources even if they didn't get any trophies we should still get a shield. I had worked very hard to get that much resources and am alitlle annoyed that I can't leave the game without people just stealing pretty much everything since I get no shield if they don't get any stars.

You would have received valuable and important trophies though... why are you complaining?

It's all part of of hhe game. It would be too easy if it wasn't.

I had 900000 gold stolen/ who cares elixir (most likely about the same) in one night (your amount gets no sympathy from me, it is one attack) because of this and I went nuts trying to redo layouts to stop that. I had to copy a layout (much I hated to copy someone) to stop that. Also it helps if you put a town hall outside walls with a storage to act as a lure. (So your lowest level gold and elixir storage next to your town hall) Makes it harder for someone to steal from you without triggering a shield.

Sure just throw out the elixir storages, that will be good for the game won't it?

I can get defensive wins AND a shield! Too easy.

You get a free shield when 40% or more of your base is destroyed. Do what you will with that info in mind when designing your base. Not gonna lie, when I'm farming for a particular resource, if I can get a majority of said resource and haven't gotten to 40%, I'll purposely surrender intentionally so that person doesn't get the shield. As a farmer, I look out for my fellow farmer. Now the next guy can come along and raid the base again with fewer traps/ heroes to contend with. I know it's not popular to do such a thing, but farmers will farm and noobs get owned and then post threads like this.....
