SuperCell, this is getting Ridiculous.

I am a near max town hall 9, I only have a few upgrades left on my defenses (like cannons and archer towers). It is absolutely absurd that near max town hall 10s can bring 30 hogs and 5 spells all the time and 3 star my base, taking 300k+ Resources (which are impossible to get nowadays) and 2k+ Dark elixir. Hog riders need to be nerfed. The only hope for defense against them should not be two OP multi infernos.








PS: If you are town hall 10, please don't throw any of the "then go to town hall 10 and get infernos" ♥♥♥♥ at me.

Then go to th 10 and get the inferno. Oh, don't worry, I'm not th10, I'm th7 :rolleyes:

Stop clogging up the forum with hogs. Notice there are only a couple threads in this? Cause it's not really a problem.

just search hogs and you will find the answer in every single topic, use an anti hog base. With it your saved from hogs and they are rendered useless, now stop clogging up the forum with complaints that there are already answers too.

You said it in your last sentence... just upgrade to TH10 and get your IT (I know you said not to say it, but it is the reasonable explanation)... either that or stop your complaining. What do you think the TH8 feel like when you go in and clean them out for 300k of each and can't revenge you for anything? Stop your whinging and deal with it. You are going to lose every now and then, as you should.

I just came up to TH10 not even two weeks ago. I was a solid TH9 for over 2 months and almost never got hogged, not even in CW. Make a base that deters them a bit more and simply do the best you can. If you do get hogged, well, they spent a ♥♥♥♥ load of DE on a great army and obviously used it well. They deserve your loot.

Anti hog isnt just some bombs put together, a good anti hog base can protect against hogs and air attacks

I have an anti-hog base and it does well against plenty of other army comps. Sure, my storages are a little easier to get to, but id rather lose 70k then get 3 starred and lose 300k. There is no perfect base that will stop every kind of attack, but if you're that upset about hogs attacking you, i'd highly recommend looking through forums and finding a good anti-hog base

Yes, I would like a base that is good against everything, but I am aware that isn't possible. What I'm saying is I am not going to make a base to attempt - because I have seen anti hog bases get hogged and 3 starred - to defend against one single strategy. It is absurd that there is even a need for it; we shouldn't have to make bases because people can click one button and drop 30 hogs, then spray heal spells where they think hogs are going. Can you not read? Not a problem if you cant, just wondering. Either that or is basic comprehension beyond you? Anyway if you look in my signature you'll see im level 97. And on the point of putting down hogs and spraying spells. It's almost as bad as putting down dragons and spraying rages. Well, Anti-Hog bases cant stop all Hog attacks, but they do a great job against unexperienced hoggers. Also, try playing a few Elixir storages next to your exposed Town Hall, it really attracts TH snipers.

There are so many anti-Hog base around, I don't understand why you don't try them out. Most of these bases are good against Balloonions as well. If you expect to protect your base against GoWiWi, forget it as its not possible without the Inferno Towers which are specially designed to fight back any army composition with Golem, High level Heroes and Witches.

1. Nobody uses mass dragons as an actual strategy excluding high levels, it's too expensive.
2. Max giants are OP. They shouldn't have been buffed. You also get level 3 drags at town hall 8.
3. I'm talking about hogs, I don't care much about the cc, army camps, drag, etc.

This is the problem I have with the "nerf hog" arguments. I mean, if they're so good, then why aren't these people complaining about them just using them? They are effective, just costly.

SC really needs to be focusing on fixing their economy, because loot doesn't exist anymore. We've had 7 Clan members quit since the Clan Wars update because they couldn't find loot anymore.

I'm about to do the same myself, I'm trying to hold out until the inactives return to being inactive, but I've lost so much time I could have been upgrading but I can't because I don't have enough gold or elixir to upgrade a single defense or troop.

When the economy can't handle all these people returning, that means the economy is severely broken. And no, I will not gem resources, so you'll get no money from me while you refuse to fix your economy SC.

This is is what sucks about Hogs

1. There is an anti-hog base but sucks at other troop tracks.
2. There is a tower against hogs (IT Multi) but op to other troops.

We don't use them because it's pretty hard to make a DE profit when it cost 2k DE for an army every time. That's pretty stupid IMO. And we are complaining about them because using them won't help out. On defense, if you haven't figured that out by now.

Look, I understand all of you haven't figured out how to play the game yet so you'd be ruined if your precious hogs were nerfed, so it's ok to have your opinion about why you don't want them nerfed. If you're going to post your opinion, at least do it respectfully and have a legitimate reason for it. Its quite funny how you are so appalled about the thought of hogs being nerfed that you bring up mass dragons, or bad loot, etc... Stop straying from the subject of hogs and focus on the OPness of hogs, not mass dragons or max giants.

You have a base with zero hog defenses... No bombs, no spring traps between defenses. That is your choice to leave your base wide open like that. It is like leaving your walls paper thin then complaining troops go right through them.

You think giants are OP too? Please, tell us how people should be able to attack your base? Obviously, you dont like either because your base is highly susceptible to both... Your base is at least a year old in design, well passed around and it is a failure against big armies.

Take some responsibility... You haven't done one thing to try and adapt to giants or hog attacks then complain they are impossible to beat.

Hint... With your level of defenses, neither hogs or giants should be hurting you at all. Your townhall is inside... Your cc is very very easy to lure... You have no traps inside the walls...

You are setting yourself up for big attacks, and you will lose. That is your choice.

We know now where they are NoT! They are not inside your walls between defenses protecting your base!

I know in two seconds after looking at your base where everything is... Hmm... 4 open areas, singles at that, inside the walls... I wonder what they could be... Open areas outside the base near resources... Hmm...

I'm sorry, but I can 3-star your base with giants (and my OP level 20 heroes). The best defense against an attacker who's better than you, no matter what they're using, is uncertainty. You have none, I know exactly where my troops are going to go. People are right to bring other Subjects, a max th8 can be 3 starred easily by a th9 army and even by th8's army, offense is stronger than defense in this game, you thought you would be able to defend everything once maxed? Look at those gemmers (and some legit clasher) in champion being demolished by gowiwi even if they're maxed, are they conplaining?

But if you wanna stay focused on hogs all right, anti hog bases can be 3 starred by SKILLED hoggers, haven't they deserve to 3 stars your base? Do you think they decided one day to make a hog army waiting 2hours or more and knowing only success 3 starring every base they decided to raid? Of course not they have failed and learned from their mistakes, they have learned how to use efficiently the hog AI, where to place their troops, how to break an anti hog design, how many hogs suit them the most, did they come here in order to complain when they were failing?

So why don't you learn from your loss? Why don't you try to find a solution? You're not the first being crushed by hogs, many have come with solutions against them then hoggers find how to counter those solutions, this is why new bases come out everytime because people learn how to crack the previous bases. So why not getting some info from people who have thought way before you how to counter this army, adapt yourself to the game's stuff and don't try to make the game adapts to your will

Congrats, you think can 3 star a th9 with your 5 spells and 240 army space camps. You must be really good for doing that! That's nice that all you guys think you can easily 3 star my base just by looking at it, but it has been 3 starred 4 or 5 times in a few months (while trophy pushing in C1), and all were by hogs. It does great against non max hogs (the replays are hilarious...) Its nice that you may think you know where your troops are going, but judging for past replays, unless the attacker was on acid, they had no clue where there troops were going. It doesn't take much to look at a base and think, oh, I could 3 star that easily!

When i said giants were OP i meant towards th8. It isn't susceptible towards giants, the most success someone had was 70% with level 25 heroes, and the usual th10 equipment (they could have gotten more, but surrendered to keep archer queen). And I'll give you a hint: the two teslas that are upgrading are a major death trap. The hogs don't go straight towards the town hall like you think, they go around the base first. Until you know how the base actually functions and where the traps are, don't comment about it.

This guy... Asks us to be respectful in our replies yet insults us in his... Forum logic. OP, hogs have Brent nerfed not once, not twice, but thrice! 3 times they have been nerfed. As MANY have already suggested, make an anti-hog base.

Honestly, the OP thinks he is right and we are wrong, nothing much we can do now but to let the thread die.

Pmiller.... You have not addressed anyone's point that you have done nothing to defend against hogs!

You could make room for some double bombs... You could move your th outside... You could make your laughably easy cc to lure not so easy to lure... You could drop your trophies... You could go as far as a ringus base, or other even more creative anti hog/giant bases out there... There are literally hundreds of anti hog bases, not all are the same.


You could do any of things and yet you seem to take pride in doing none of these things and then justified in complaining about what you set your base up for... Failure against two widely used armies...

Because you've come across bad ones, good anti hog design can defend against other troops too, not as well as other designs but still ...

The design i'm using is good against mass hogs, and giants, defend well against air troops but is weaker against barch and bam that's my choice as yous is good against i don't know which troops but weak against hogs, make a choice i'm not here complaining about barch with healing spell is op because it turn xbow into a decoration building, thus it is true

If you considered hogs op because they can wreck your base, why thinking hogs are op? Why not thinking your base design is why you've lost?

To the OP: Your base stinks. I could walk over it with BAM. If you are a decent farmer you should be able to farm back that 300K that you lost in about half an hour. You want to nerf BAM as well? After all, I can three-star noobs with some rage spells. You don't seem to realize the uselessness of this thread.

If your SO tired of hogs crushing you, you have three options.

1. Stop being lazy and find a anti-hog base to use.

2. Ask for help from others on the forums to help you with your base searching adventure.

3. Find a new game and stop complaining about the same problems many people have already complained about.


We all have those days of the extremely frustrating hog defenses, trust me. It's not just you. :)

I'm a TH9 and I can do the same to you with 30 hogs and 4 heal spells I expect.
It's nothing to do with TH10s, it's all about hogs being strong, and your base not being effective against them.

I used to use hogs myself, around 2200 cups, and yeah I was looking for bases that were not well setup to counter hogs, and had loads of loot... these bases are super easy to beat once you get the hang of it. But most strong TH9 I see now are in Clan Wars, and loads of them are really hard to hog, so I skip them and attack something different - same deal, if I was still farming TH9.

My TH10 is anti-hog, in Masters, and still gets hogged from time to time, especially when I'm upgrading an inferno and have loads of DE. More often than not, the few attackers I get visiting, get 1 star, and a share of my loot. No biggie, I am typically gettiing more in one raid, than I lose in one defense. My point being, infernos will help stop your base getting trashed, but it's only part of the equation, it also depends on how much loot you have and what trophy range you are in, in terms of who will find your base an attractive hit.

As mentioned earlier, the best way to avoid getting trashed all the time while maxing your TH9 is to stay out of the TH10 farming hot-spots, i.e. somewhere mid-Gold is probably best. And don't try and hoard all three resources - e.g. if you are hoarding gold for a big upgrade, keep your DE and elixer right down, etc..

TH9's can actually defend against hogs even with your high leveled defenses which I am also in the same boat with. All you really need is an anti-hog base with great giant bomb placement, and/or have a hogger who does not know the proper mechanics on how to raid. Even with an anti-hog base, I can keep skilled attackers with hogs at a 1 star unless​ they carry a freeze spell in their composition.

For someone whose base sucks so bad, you have quite a big ego. You have one of the most predictable bases and to be honest, I don't think people need hogs to turn your base into ground zero. Sure, you can keep telling yourself these people are lying. After all, how can someone can easily 3 star a base just by looking at it. Let me tell you a secret. THEY CAN! Why? It's called experience. Something you lack when it comes to base design (and part of it, I believe, is because you're so self-defensive and close-minded that you fail to see what other people have pointed out).

And please stop about anti-hog bases sucks against other kinds of attack. You don't know enough to say that. Sure, one type of design can't protect you from all kinds of attack, but I guarantee you a good anti-hog base works well with other kinds of attack too (like giants/healers, loonions). And no, you don't need inferno towers to defend against hogs. As a TH9, if you do it right, you should be able to defend against 90% of hog attacks. If you come across great hoggers, however, even both inferno towers tower on disco mode can't stop them if the layouts sucks so bad (like yours). They chew them up for lunch.

Listen to people here on the forum when they say your base sucks because it does. There are no gaps inside the wall, which means no traps of any kinds. Your CC is in a bad spot; so easy to lure the troops out. Your defenses are all grouped up which means if you come across good loonion users/hoggers, they'll also chew you up in an instant. Hell, even good farmers with giants/healers can drop hard on your base because it's so predictable (and please stop saying we don't know where your giant bombs are because WE DO. It seems hogs is not a problem. It's your base design after all.

Before saying something is ridiculous and needs to be changed. Please take a good look at how you play the game first. Hogs are powerful, yes, but they are not an answer to everything. They can be stopped. And so far, you've done nothing to make that happen.


EDIT: Before you ask if I ever got attacked by anything else. I am a TH10 with one week away from being maxed out. I am not the best players out there but when I was a TH9, I pushed to Master I, so I've been through some ♥♥♥♥.

Really? I have an anti-hog base (variant of Ringus). I have had forty raids in the last 20 days. During pretty much the whole time I only had one XBow (one then the other upgrading to level 3). Only two of the raids, or 5%, were hog attacks. So 95% of the time (at least using my sample) people do use "strat other than hogs" on my "anti-hog base". I have been sitting at around 1800-2100 cups (things will probably change further up), and I don't think my logs imply that it is an "absolutely terrible base" for other strategies. In fact the only fail I had was against max drags with three spells:
* 29 TH snipes. (Two were 40 archers that tried to take out some collectors but I don't count them as BARCH).
* No serious BARCH.
* No GoWiPe/GoWiWi raids.
* One mass drag with 3 rages that took 180K of each, and 1.2K gold. Not much I could do about that.
* 7 giant raids. My favorite: 15 giants, 1 dragon, 22 minions, a rage and the CC that left with 11K gold, and 17K elixir. Note to self: don't take giants on air raids.
* One loonion raid: BK, 50 minions, 12 loons, two drags. Missed DE (was offering 2.5K as I recall) so they used 4 lightnings and took 121K, 99K, 403 DE. I had a 41% win with TH exposed.
* 16 hogs, 84 barb, 56 archer, BK, AQ, 1 lightning, 3 rages, and got a 41% win! (again TH exposed)
* 10 hogs, 170 archers and 1 heal. Why ever raid with 10 hogs???? Fail obviously.

OP look up thread about Ringus base and watch all the defense replays and compare them to yours. I just went to TH10 a week and a half ago with a maxxed TH9 (except all walls ~40% lvl 9 and rest skulls). I welcomed hog attacks especially from other TH9's = free trophies. TH10's could only one star with hogs no matter what else was in the mix. If you think I am lying and don't know what I am talking about look me up: Clan - Resolution - member - poynter1050.

I don't post much because I read a lot to find out what works. You should do the same and realize this game takes time to have a decent base unless you have loads of cash to dump.

The way you have played this game doesn't match your expected results.

re do your base to a anti hog and if it is get a better anti hog design th9 can defend against hogs if u set it up right and 300k+ raids are easy to find even at th10

As others said, just use anti hog base... that simple. And if you are near maxed then yes i will say it.... click that th ten upgrade button and enjoy powerful defenses.

BTW, thank you for allowing me to easily take th 9's 360 k gold + elixr....

As i use hogs almost every raid and specifically look for insane loot from th 9's!

Just looked at your base, and it's begging to be hogged. You're gonna have to utilize giant bombs better than that to have a chance, or at least to make a hogger think twice.
