Leveling troops

I have played clash of clans for a while now and one problem I've had is getting elixir.
(this is my opinion) i think that in a laboratory you should be able to downgrade levels of a troop you don't use anymore and get back about half of the elixir you spent on them.This would help people get elixir and do whatever they want with it.
Unfortunately if you decide to use that troop again and want to level it the cost would still be the same.
