Is it impossible to accumulate red lures?

Ok, I have been dealing with a problem related to fishing lately. And that is: how does one acumulate red lures for constant fishing? It feels impossible. Especially if the person plays constantly throughout the day like I do.

Cause i was thinking: once i have 6 lobsters in my pool, i will probably place all my 6 lobster traps on the areas that have the longest rest periods (because those traps take 6 hours) which are the reed areas and the deep water areas (including the swampy one). And of course I will leave the fast ones for actual FISH, which are the 2 water spots next to the "hut" (2 hours rest) and the 2 rocky areas (2h 30min rest).

And thats when the problem begins. It takes 1 hour and 25 minutes to produce 1 red lure and 5 hours and 40 minutes to produce 4 (before mastering the lure machine). That means in the very moment my 4 fishing areas become ready, i would have only 1 lure to spend.

Now I ask. Why would hay day make it this way. Some fishing spots recover very fast but we can't have enough lures in time. Is that some way to make us feel the necessity to spend voucher lures? considering its faster to make those...
Another question: how can I possibly accumulate red lures if everytime i have ONE made, i already have 4 spots right there waiting for me.

I just found out about this after doing some math. I may be wrong cause i still didn't test enough. What do you guys think? Please let me know, and sorry for my bad english. Thanks.

Yes you are right.
This needs some management.

You should actually make nets as well along with lobster traps.
You should try to buy as many possible slots in the lure workbench and keep the lures for production overnight and while work.
Third, you put the lobster traps on one of the rocky areas and consume the swampy area for fishing as it has a chance to catch special ones.

I think your calculation is based on the assumption that you play 24 hr per day. If you count in the sleeping time (to me it's at least 8 hrs a day) when you cannot play, then its not that bad. I opened 2 more slots in lure machine so when I wake up I have 6 lures ready and all fishing areas open. I have 4 slots for the net machine, and I make 2 fishing nets during sleeping and lobster nets all other time. The 2 fishing nets will keep 2 fishing spots locked for the whole day, leaving me only 8 spots to play with. Factor in the 6 lures & 1~2 lobster net I get at the beginning of day, my fishing areas are pretty busy, with maybe 1 spot not used at some time :cool:

PS: Like you, I only fish in the spots that refresh most frequently (unless I need to fish for a particular type using voucher lures). If I do otherwise, I will have more lures than I can use.

Skip fishing for a few days while you're making lures. Expand your slots to the max ASAP. Use a lot of nets, expand those slots too. Focus on only fish for a few days, then only lobsters for a few days. Just turn away trucks wanting whatever you are out of. Don't constantly ask for help on all 3 lobster or fish crates, turn the boat away if you can't fill even one box. Jeez. Other players don't exist to allow you to ignore all strategy. Think.

I have an overabundance of red lures, but that's because I rely on nets to do most of my fishing (along with lobster traps) and don't fish with lures but a couple of times a day. I drop four nets every morning and every morning I collect 12 fish from the nets dropped the day before. Then I'll fish some of the other spots, the amount depending on if we're in a fishing event or not. If we are, I fish all of the areas and don't drop nets at all. If not, then I fish very sporadically and make sure to keep fish-related products in good supply. Drop a few nets for a while and use them for fish until you build your lure supply up. It's so fun to collect all those fish at once!

Expand your tackle box capacity and spend some time accumulate lures before fishing.

You may want to consider putting lobster traps in the areas that have the shorter waiting times. Then when the 3 and 4 hour spots are ready you will have more than one lure ready. Also make sure you are making lures as often as is possible for you to do, but don't necessarily fish every time a lure and fishing spot are ready to be fished. I find that my tackle box is frequently overflowing (and I have plenty of fish and lobster tails) By using nets in two spots, 3-4 traps, and fishing once when I start playing for the day and once when I am about to be finished for the day. I've found that that works for me. I generally only use voucher lures if there is an event and I want the extra large fish, if I want more of the colored fish, or if the ones I keep getting from mystery nets start to take over my tackle box. It won't be easy to stockpile lures and fish as often as possible, unless you drop nets for a day or so and build up your supplies. Otherwise there are simply too many slots available to go fishing in. However as long as you have enough fish and lobster for everything you want to use it in, it doesn't really matter how many extra lures, traps, and nets you have.

Love the insights the players have given. Want to add one: fish with vouchers also. The vouchers take less time to make lures, than the free red worms take, and you can build up a supply more quickly. And search the link info in my signature for more info. I use nets all the time and forego lobsters for one or two weeks. Then use the lobster nets for two or three days only. Very important to build up the slots in the tackle box, and I have seven. Now I can sleep at night and still be making lures when awakening. Enjoy!!

I would like to correct a word there - tackle box.
Tackle box is the storage.
But what you are referring to is the lure workbench.

This is a good strategy.

I drop nets when I have them and fish with lures on other spots.
I have many red lures but prefer to keep them for a fishing event!

There are about 20 lures still waiting to be collected outside the workbench. I collect them when I fish a bit.

I have only 3 slots on my lure workbench but still manage to keep stocked with lures.

For me, fishing is boring and I rarely do it more than twice a day. I use 8 lobster traps and 2 fish nets per day, and red lures all of the rest of the time. I have about 70 red lures stored in the tackle box. The moral of the story? Even though your lure production mathematically cannot keep up with the maximal possible fishing rate, if you are a lazy fisherman with a middling number of slots in the lure production queue, you make them faster than you use them.

Since I play every single day around 16hours/day, here's the solution I came up with.
Apart from the 6 spots dedicated to lobsters, i use the other 3 (including the 2 rocky areas) for fishing NETS and leave only the spot next to the hut/house for red lures. Doing that, everytime a Lure is ready, i have one spot "about" to get ready. So at this rate, i can eventually start accumulating lures considering the fact that I can sometimes forget about fishing.

So that's it. In conclusion, I have to use the nets. Hay Day wants me to use nets, even tho i hate them and find them useless. Well actually they are not THAT useless after all.

I used to dislike the nets too, especially when they only gave two fish. But since I dislike fishing with lures even more (except during fishing events), I find the nets very useful for giving me a dozen fish all at once. Perhaps you'll enjoy them more the longer you play. I do know one thing, the responses here encouraged me to expand my tackle box two more times and I'm quite enjoying THAT. I'm up to 60 and am filling it with colored lures instead of the red ones since I have so many darned green and blue tickets. And nets (and traps), of course. :rolleyes:

Bingo! I think you answered your own question there :-)

I don't fish all the time, in fact I'll go for days without fishing. I got bored of it, so I started dropping nets instead. That way if you have 8-10 lures in stock and 8-10 nets dropped, if you need fish then you pull them all up and then have a quick fish and you can have up to 40 fish in one hit. Ka-BOOM!
