This will greatly reduce h@ckers and cheeters using them to their advantage.
I've played other online games and we'd complain endlessly for devs to fix the issues, and it worked (within 3-4 months)
I'm just wondering what's taking SC so long in resolving 3rd party softwares being used undetected? It's been almost a year since I've heard of these and possibly longer but nothing has been done.
Sure SC was busy with developing CWs but don't they have a separate team to handle these issues?
The thing is, there are 2 types of people who use 3rd party softwares:
- Harmless players who use it to o manage their second accounts, they don't ♥♥♥♥♥, don't ♥♥♥♥, they just play the game.
- Top Players who spent thousands of dollars in the game. You can figure out why SC doesn't doo anything about it, right?
People who ♥♥♥♥♥ and ♥♥♥♥ are a minority, that's why SC doesn't care about it, yes, they ban some people every 6 months just to scare people, but that's it.
If SC were motivated, I'm sure they could ban jailbroken devices from connecting.Quote:

In this case SC can't ban your device but instead permanently delete your account in gamecenter. A new account must be created and a new fresh CoC installed. All previous data will be lost.
Sony does get your PS3 console permanently banned and rendering it useless. Getting another console is the only solution.

Apple provides ALL of the external API calls. If your application makes a call outside of it's own program, and it isn't one of the calls which Apple provides, then your application is rejected from the App Store (they can tell).
The only solution would be if Apple creates an API to check if the device is Jailbroken. Then Supercell could add a call to this API, if the result is TRUE then they could do something.
HOWEVER, just because a device is Jailbroken doesn't mean people are using h@cking tools. This is why Apple have never provided these checks.
Effectively there is very little SC can do. Their only solution is to keep making internet connectivity tests in-game. If the user is not connected, then stop them doing something. Trouble is the h@cking software can fake these calls as well.
Bottom line, I wouldn't expect a solution anytime soon. Unless they have been working on something for many many months prior to this. Of course this would take away valuable development time of the actual game. For me I hope they just work on the game.
