problem is that inf towers are so powerful it's very frustrating sitting so close to them without enjoying them.
With CW out, it's even worse, why would you stay at TH9 where it is pretty hard to prevent 2-star from any good player with 20+ heroes ..
I guess there is no mandatory way to go, so I understand people staying at TH9 for a longer time. But I go straight to TH10 once my base is maxed (few days away now as I don't need 4 lvl 10 barracks).
I found myself pretty lucky.
I went to TH9 with a pretty premature village defense wise. I farm a lot, so I was full skull walls at TH8 very very fast, and didnt want to waste my time not being able to spend neither my gold nor my DE (BK was 10 in less than 3 weeks being TH8).
I'm very lucky because, farming what I farm, I managed to finish my lego walls exactly at the same time I'm done with TH9 defenses.
My heroes have been constantly upgrading (2 at the same time at first then always one upgrading past lvl 15 heroes), thus I find myself with max defense, max walls (don't plan on rushing lvl 10 walls, they will come when they'll come), lvl 22-20 heroes, and thus I feel I don't want to stay TH9 any longer.
I've been playing since august, having 5 builders busy 24/7, lab busy 24/7, and actually this was a pretty fantastic timing for me, finishing my lego walls right on time.
With my lvl 9 walls and max def, I feel TH10 is calling me very strongly. Just another few days and I'll launch the upgrade.
Troop wise, if you guys wonder, I have:
Maxed elixir (troops and spells) upgrades except pekka (lvl 2)
minions 5
hogs upgrading to 5
rest of DE troops lvl 1, but I'll make witches 2 while upgrading to th10
overall I feel the time needed building wise/ lab wise was just perfect for the way I play the game.
If I was more hardcore, I would have been able to work on some lvl 10 walls, but that's ok, I'm fine with lvl 9, I'll make lvl 10 once my TH10 is maxed ^^
I have stayed at Th9 for a long time. I have had maxed TH9 defenses and troops (except valks and the last level of golems) since November. I have focused on heroes and walls since then. It's taken me a while since my activity level has slowed during this time. I do not think I will advance to TH10 until I have both heroes to at least lvl 20 (getting very close) and lego walls. I almost forget what it is like to hunt gold anymore since I have focused on DE for so long! I don't know if staying at TH9 was a good strategy or not, but I do not regret it. On the rare occasion that I raid with both upgraded heroes, I have a lot of fun watching them dominate a base in my trophy range. Had I upgraded, I am sure I would have focused on defense and troop upgrades and would have ignored my heroes for even longer.
Staying at th9 to do walls I get (though I wouldn't recommend it). But staying at th9 only for DE? Farming DE is easier at th10 and protecting it is much better with infernos.Quote:

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the farming at TH10 and in the week and a half I've been a TH10 I've managed to afford about 18 lava walls, 2 x IT's, 1 xbow, 2 camp upgrades, and spell factory playing 2 hours a day boosted (weekdays) and probably 4 hours boosted sat/sun.
When my camps get finished and I move up to 240 troops I plan to gradually move up to maybe 2300-2400 range to farm the Crystal I bonus along with more storages on the perimeter.
I refuse to farm with anything but Tier I troops, so it's just a matter of finding the best range/approach to maximize gold per hour. It will probably take me a few months to find the perfect groove, but anything Tier I is better than farming with slow build armies no matter what the TH level.
I enjoy life at th9. All my buildings and troops are max except for 3 AT. My AQ is 16 and BK going 19.
I barch all the time and look only for DE. All the extra gold goes into the walls. No stress and no complaining about the lack of gold or lix. :cool:
I will stay here untill both heroes are lv 30 which should take around 7 months. By that time i should also have a full lego base with a lava core. That village will look awesome!

This is a good question. Since the farming has sucked so bad since I went to th9 (Jan of this year) I decided I was going to leave a builder open at all times for walls and do heroes nonstop. So I've only been upgrading 2 defenses at a time. Right now I have 142 legos and 15 lavas (my design for a long time didn't need more legos than that) and once all of my defenses are done upgrading I guess I will just have to make the jump to th10 and farm every 40 minutes using miniball. BAM farming is almost dead at th9 so I can only imagine how horrible it's going to be at th10.
Up until December I thought I'd max out every town hall but SuperCell doesn't want us to do that any more without a boatload of gems so I'm just going to go to th10 with 40-50 hero levels and mostly lego walls.
