Using Barch to Gold 1

I was wondering can you use Barch to get to Gold 1?
My Barbarians and Archers are both level 4 and I can hold 200 troops.

Attack TH8s and under, surround with barbs then archers. Snipe if you find any. This strategy is used by TH9s and 10s to get to champ and is really good to get 1-2 stars

You can get to crystal three pretty easily with lvl4 barch - it took us a couple of days of th sniping and 50%'s :)
