How to defend against Giant Healer strategy?

I've been getting attacked many times this way, and losing my resources. Should I just drop trophies to avoid it? I've been wanting to get some DE, though. Anyway, the attacker drops about 20 giants, usually on the weakest side, and a few wall breakers. He takes out the Air Defense, then drops healing spells, and/or a healer. His giants are then almost invincible, and my base gets ripped up. Should I focus on upgrading the Air Defense, or centralize them?

Any tips for defending against this?

Place your air defenses with good protection closer to the center of the base. If they are right on the edge with just one layer then of course they will attack u with giant healer.

Put your seeking air mines not far from your AD (closer to border of map).
Most of giant/healer attacks will start the closest possible to one of your air defense, rage giants up until they've destroyed your AD and then popping up healers.
-> healers will most of the time appear pretty close to where your AD used to be.


As a TH9 most good base designs have 2 AD inside the core and 2 outside, pretty much easy to get.
Put 2 seeking air mines pretty close to each one of your outside AD -> win.

I've won so many hilarious defenses this way using my base: full giant to kill AD, then healers pop right behind giants when ad is dead -> 2 healers dead.

If you are th8 and th9s are attacking you, there isn't really much you can do about it. It sucks but its how the game works. You don't really help out the ths bellow you. If you are th9, place air defenses near the middle and separate the storages. Use funneling for th8 and th9

1. Hard to lure heros and cc with wiz or archers
2. Protected air defences.
3. good position of air mines and bombs... with nicely places springs.

healers cant heal jumping giants, put spring traps by your AD ;)

also use a base which isn't that well known. Don't use the pokeball and tesla theme park as everyone knows how to beat them. Don't get me wrong they were amazing bases before everyone used them and everyone found out how to beat them.

Agreed .. another benefit its easy to change your base any time u have a new learning

Thanks, I'll try to redesign my base to protect AD.

I used giant-healer combo many times, centralized Air Defense and well positioned spring traps are a real pain in the a**
