Whilst playing on my low level account I made a town hall 5 farming base. Hope you enjoy. Also if you have any suggestions to improve it feel free to tell me :).

So far the hardest attack I've prevented is a giant+healer, I hope that replay is still available so I post it.

My only concern, and I see no way to fix it, the the 'T' junctions on the east and west sides. WB's can open up two compartments there.

Unless the person is bringing around 6 wallbreakers, it does not get broken they would go for that wall 3rd.

I think the mortar is vulnerable to archers. Attacker come from south east, then while the barbarians go into the eastern compartment and distract the mortar, the archer will go for the mortar after they down the two towers. Then they got at least half the gold and elixir.

Also vulnerable to balloon assault, wallbreaker destroy northeast wall, hround troops destroy air defense, then the baloons come.

Lastly, giant healer (to be fair, there aren't much a th5 can do against properly executed giant healer)

Let's be honest, there aren't very many Town Hall 5's that would be able to plan that. Even if they did I feel that protecting two storages wouldn't be a bad defence.

Secondly, at level 1 balloons are able to be taken out by an archer tower relatively easy, but I do agree with you, a mass balloon would three star any base if done properly.

I understand that hardly any people at Town hall 5 can do a proper giant healer. Anyway, thanks for the constructive criticism!

As th5 defending two storage is a victory of its own, there arent enough wall or defence to properly protect 4 :)

This is great! The only thing is the duel mortar on the wizard tower and mortar in the middle but otherwise amazing!

Replace the Clan Castle with The Archer tower so that giants get attracted there!

Nice looking base. Question, where have you found a good place to farm at? I have th5 and at 581 trophys currently. I find nice loots but the bases are to strong to take much if any.

I've been farming at around 1100, lots of inactive bases for easy collector raids.

Added logs.

Maybe it's only luck, or it's my tendency to fully loot back whatever taken from my storages, but the moment I tried your design I've been visited by giant-healer TH6-7 4 times in first few hours ._.

On a serious note, for a TH5 base this is beautiful. Best base I've ever seen for below th6. Great base:)

not to offend u but 1 win in like 12(I forget how many) wont make anyone use it. also a few ballons and drag should do its work or mass hog jk

Edit: because as everyone know. In clan war. Destroyed town hall will give your enemy 1 star. And farming base layout require your town hall outside of the wall..

First off for all the knobs chiming in on this post about Hogs and dragons destroying this base well NO shit fools, we are at th5 level the best we got is lvl 2 Giants and Wizards. Nobody with any of those higher level units would bother with us.

I came to the website a few days ago because with the base defense and strategy I was doing I was getting raided 2-4 times a night for 200k resources and missing opportunities to upgrade because of lack of resources. Sick of being farmed I needed insight on how to do better. Found this thread and started using this clockwork. Here are my results after a few days of progress:

Here is what was happening to me on a daily basis. Getting punched for resources like a loot pinada...

And here has been my results since then for the last 4 days. Nothing but easy painless shields and minor resource losses. Now I think the biggest benefit from this strategy is because we are so low level compared to those around us many folks seem to just say NOPE as they are scrolling through the next button looking for easier marks. I've havent been able to hold onto this many resources before without being periodically raided and my defense were periodically down for the last few days too.

I look forward to upgrading my th soon and redesigning for the next level of this wonderful game. thanks for the strategy to employ dude. You are going good work and here is my proof

I have to agree with Zweisocki. The base design is awesome. Can't post pictures right now, but my logs improved significantly. Haven't had a major raid in days and not because of high shield uptime, since I farm a lot and often break it.

Giving this base a spin over the old layout I took from the Wiki.

Pretty much was shooting dice on defenses when someone went ham with just about everything available to a TH5. Should be interesting to see how this holds up and how Clockwork 6 works after that.

How would you modify this for Clan Wars? I'm tired of getting dominated for resources every night, but don't want to give up easy stars for clan wars.

Honestly, I never participated in clan wars as a town hall 5. I'd recommend looking for a different base for clan wars.

I shoulda took more pictures during the time i was TH5 and using this guy's strategy but all i did was move the TH into the center and widen the inner wall 1 spot to accommodate its size. I did the same for TH6 clockwork and it worked just as well. Both look intimidating as ♥♥♥♥ for an early going player.

At town hall 5 a clan castle can be easily lured anyway. I have it on the outside because splash damage in the center is very important at this level. The level of troops you're getting also will effect your decision.

OP is correct about it being easy to lure no matter what. the reason why mine is centralized is because i was receiving troops like lvl 5-6 archers, wizards and the like from my clan. 90% of the attacks on my farming base were not smart enough to clear the CC beforehead and would simply get wiped out being morons. It was a personal preference on my part as more often than not the CC was my best defensive structure.

edit: also i didnt like how someone could drop a LB and significantly take out or down both my splash damage buildings.

I've used clockwork TH5 & TH6 and didn't much care for either of them. My bases would constantly get trashed. The TH5 is ok at <700 cups with lvl 4 walls. TH6 is terrible all the way around as TH7's will abuse you constantly. The funneling is nice in theory, but once people pop the sides with wall breakers, it's all over.

My advice would be to get to TH7 asap. At that point, you have some flexibility. Max defenses and get at least lvl 5 walls. Gem the collectors and keep your workers busy. At TH6 you'll be able to do some good raids around 1000 cups. Spend it as fast as you can or you'll be looted dry. As a top-end TH7 myself, TH6's don't stand a chance.

i used this layout for some time.. wb deployed from below still able to penetrate the lower quadrant. and the rest is history

the funnel didn't work for me..giants were dropped at the north and they crashed through the north cannon instead of walking through the opening..is it because of my walls? coz i only have lvl 2 walls..

First off thank you for taking the time to actually make a TH5 base. I'm so greatful.
Now for those who doubt it, this is a FARMING base. Not a cup base. Not a clan wars base. And obviously TH7 are going to wreck TH5 base in almost any sense of the word. There are some aspects of the game you just have to deal with. Instead of knocking the fact that TH that are 2 levels or more above you are beating you be thankful that statistically you are holding onto more resources than you used to and if that's not the case people then please share your logs and your base for farming at TH5 because I'd love to admire and mimic them ;)

You can still use this set-up, just replace the clan castle with a gold mine, or elixir pump. Also I'd recommend rethinking not joining a clan; you could join a "request and leave" clan just to get troops. CC troops can be very handy sometimes.

I'm new at this game...I can tell you I was looking for a good TH5 farming base for days...trying and testing everything on youtube until I found this thread...this base is just amazing! I test it for a couple of days and I keep most of my resources...even from TH6 with the healers/giants strategy...pretty neat. almost a week with your base and it help me to max everything!

Do you have any sick layout for TH6? I'm almost there thanks to you and I would like to keep farming like pro. also what farming strategy do you recommend? should I keep going barbs/archers for resources?

Also, whilst looking at replays you'd be surprised how many people had 6 of their high level giants sprung off the map.
