I found out that the most important things for a new TH9 are the AQ, Offense upgrades (Lab, camps, Dark barrack and drill, in that order) and Defense upgrades (X-Bows, Wizard Towers, Air Defense and point defenses)
I wondering why mortars are being left behind since this was the single most important splash defense in prior TH levels?
And what should I focus on first?
Quite simply, it's because any troop that lvl 7 mortars can 1-shot, lvl 6 mortars can also 1-shot.
The benefits of upgrading to lvl 7 from lvl 6 mortars are not as great as all previous town hall levels.
The other upgrades you mentioned before are the ones you should focus on.
Also due to the fact that more high HP troops are used more like balloons, hogs, troops like those that wont get too affected by mortars.
The best thing I can think of is that it takes 2 instead of 3 shots to kill a lvl 6 barb
Higher level troops = Less a mortar can do it's magic.
