Unfortunately, yes. This is a very common thing. There are a lot of immature and ignorant people, on CoC and also forums. Its the name of the game i guess. Very sad.

If I come across this base I will 3-star it regardless of what resources they are offering. You guys should do the same, maybe it will convince them to change their design.

Unfortunately the actions of a particular group of people have given the sign a negative connotation regardless of what the user of the symbol may claim. It's obvious why people insist on using it, despite whatever defense one could give for using it...

Maybe he just likes the design? You can't immediately assume his intentions were bad.

Also, that's a backward swastika which is a Buddhist symbol that means peace.
