You can upgrade your troops already but this makes it so you can equip your troops with armour and better weapons so along with upgrading troops you can find and upgrade what they attack with.

Yes like iron or steel armour.
Ok then, it would be nice to actually choose what you want to enhance on a specific unit.
A barbarian could see his axe attack increased, then his armor strenghtened.
It would bring some depth to the game.
Although, I doubt SC would add such way to improve units only because the laboratory does it already.
