Not true. I have three xmas trees. Got three gem boxes every wenseday since the update has come out. On phone. Can type much.

Nope, I got no Christmas Trees and No Gem Boxes....I don't think their is any correlation, just luck....
What about the amount of gems you guys have? I have 2800 gems no gem boxes, i asked everyone online there gem amount when they got the gem box, they were all below 100 gems

3 xmas trees and i've gotten 5 or 6 gem boxes (shhh i did forget the exact number)
Gem boxes can spawn whenever there are less than 40 obstacles in a base and there is room for it to spawn, christmas tree or not. I get it that gem boxes are rare and not everyone has one yet, but there are too many threads on this- closing this one.
