Hi, I have a question about my town hall. I'm in the process of upgrading my town hall to level 10 , I have 3 more days till it's finish. One of my the members in my clan adjusted (very rudely) that I cancel the upgrade and work on upgrading base. I think he could be right.
- -Will I lose the resources (GOLD) it took to start the upgrade if I cancel it??
- -Does it matter if I just finish the upgrade and upgrade base after??
Hi, if you are asking this question, then it is probably true that you should cancel your th10 upgrade and keep upgrading your base a little more. Can you post your clan name and in-game name so we can take a look at your base to see how developed your base is? Or you can post a screenshot of your base here.
There are negative consequences to upgrading your town hall level too high when your defenses and offenses are much lower in development. It can become much harder to raid bases that are stronger, and if you want to keep raiding weaker bases, the loot penalty will greatly decrease the amount of loot available for you to earn from those bases. It can be very bad for you and not fun at all. Each time you click next when looking for a base to raid, it will cost you 1000 gold too. It gets expensive.
Here are the answers to your questions:
1) If you cancel it, you will get back HALF of the total upgrade cost. Since the TH10 upgrade costs 4 million gold, you will get 2 million back.
2) YES IT MATTERS. It will be much more difficult to earn resources at TH10 compared to TH9, so it is a bad idea to finish the TH upgrade and to upgrade the defenses later.
I think you should listen to your clan member and cancel the upgrade.

There's plusses too, such as inferno towers and a 3rd x-bow, but of course you need resources to purchase them and it'll take a little longer if you're not making as much per attack due to the TH percentage penalties.
I'm a big fan of getting everything upgraded before moving to the next TH, but I may take it to extremes... my th10 upgrade just finished, but everything, and I mean EVERYTHING (except walls) were upgraded.

It sounds like your base may not be ready for TH10. I think you should CANCEL the town hall 10 upgrade.Quote:

But well, now you've done it and I wouldn't cancel it, it costs 4 mil I think, and if you cancel it you'll get back only 2 mil.
It wasn't smart but now you've done it so don't cancel.

If you have to ask these questions, you are defintely not ready to have a TH10.
If you worry about losing the ressources when cancelling (only 4 millions gold, which should not be much for a TH9), you are not ready for TH10.
If you don't know about the loot penalty and exactly how it affects you in detail, you are not ready for a TH10.
