I'm TH8 actually and I pretty shure I can stop mass dragon with 1 - 2 stars.

Every TH9 and 8 with level 4 hogs should say three. Only exception is unlurable CCs and double giant bombs I think.
Mm.., at least 2 stars, if I'm gonna mass-hog my own base.
I'm a bit surprised more people aren't saying 3 stars, especially th8 and below. But I think most are answering a slightly different question than the OP intended. It's not a matter of what your normal army could get on your normal layout, it's what you would get with your most destructive army against your war layout.
I sure hope people aren't leaving town halls exposed and attacking with farming troops, (though plenty of our war opponents have been). This is war, when we get to ignore costs and focus on wiping bases off the map!
