So im lvl 52 TH7 and I was just wondering when a good time to transition to TH8 would be. I dont want to do it prematurely and get raped as soon as I do. I just dont know what lvl most TH8s are. Any advice?

Your level is irrelevant. Post your defense building levels or a screenshot of your base.
In general, your splash damage, your most used troops, and ideally all defense buildings should be maxed. But if you're itchy, make sure your splash damage is maxed and your single target defenses are no less than 1 level below maxed.
Also, maxed walls is optimal but you'll survive with max level 6. Do not have any gold walls going to TH8.
When you feel you can protect full storages pretty well and you feel nowhere to spend your resources.
After that, farm some DE for fun, upgrade all resource collectors to level 9, learn how TH8 guys attacking your nearly maxed base, study TH8 layouts while attacking them, ...
Then go for TH8.
i just got th8...i would recommend maxing out completely including walls and collectors....after that farm high for DE to upgrade your king to atleast level 3-4 ideally 5 as well as pay for upgrading your minions and hogs to atleast level 2....use lightning and drags whenever you can
When you max th7 would be a great time
This is a hard transition. My biggest tip has to be immediately after the TH upgrade finishes use your extra elixir to instantly begin upgrading the lab. Then, start upgrading your troops as soon as you can.
Independent of WHEN you actually hit the "upgrade" button is the fact that you WILL NOT advance faster no matter what you do. So, let's say, on TH7 your air defenses are on level 3. Then on TH8 they won't just magically appear to be level 5s - instead, you get another air defense that you need to level up. Plus, you get more storages, more walls, more defenses -> more stuff to upgrade and spend resources and time on... More and more to do.
I don't know if you see where I'm going with what I'm saying... It's not getting easier upgrading your defenses after you reached the next townhall level without maxing out completely, but instead, it's more to do.
I'm happy and I do not regret that I maxed out TH6, TH7 and TH8 (except some dark lab upgrades) completely before finally advancing. Even with a maxed TH8 and all 5 builders I got all my hands full on TH9.
Just max TH7 it doesn't take too long to do and it's worth it.
although lvl doesn't matter, u can never lose XP, only gain. so if ur TH7 and lvl 52, u are in no shape ready for TH8. maybe lab upgrades and walls are, but your overall base isn't. you should be at least lvl 58-lvl60 IMO b4 moving to TH8. I maxed TH7 at lvl 64, and had very few donations, so w/o all the extra stuff I probably would've been around lvl 60-lvl 62Quote:

Haven't looked back... level 5 troops get a nice boost (well, archer, giant, balloon and wizard anyway) and the looting is much the same as TH7.
I'd recommend having at least maxed pink walls, so that you can defend against level 5 wallbreakers adequately. I had almost all walls at purple when I started TH8.
