8500 gems to spend in TH9, help me spend them.

So I have 8500 gems remaining to spend in my TH9 base. what's left to upgrade:

Troops:
Hog Riders - Currently upgrading to level 5, 8 days remaining
Balloons - Currently level 5
Minions -Currently level 3

DE Drills:
Level 5 and Level 4

BK: Level 8
AQ: Level 5

Defenses:
Cannons and Archer Towers are all level 10
Wizards Towers all level 6
AD all level 6
Teslas 2 level 6 2 level 5
Mortars all level 7
Xbows both level 2


I was thinking finish the hog upgrade, start the balloons (maybe finish it right away too). Max both DE drills. and see how many gems are left after that (I imagine not many, if at all).

Make sure you have have all 5 builders huts, because a lot of BK AQ and defences to upgrade
I suggest you upgrade you wizard towers and xbows
I wouldn't gem to upgrade your troops unless you are trophy hunting and need the upgraded troops

Just my personal opinion, do what you want though

I personally would gem the upgrade times on splash buildings and AD.

ya I have 5 builder huts already.

Id prefer to get most of my loot through raids which is why i was leaning towards upgrading my troops.

No matter what you decide to do. I advise. Don't gem the cost. Just the time. Raid for the resources your gems will go much further.

Get five builders, then boost barracks/spell factory/hero and do lots of farming sessions :)

i would only spend on boosting, this is a long term game so i can wait the upgrade time :cool: dont ever buy resources

Depends, are you active or not. If you ever notice, most high lvl players have maxed all troops and defences but most of them have low level heroes and walls. If I were you I would get those wizard towers to lvl 7 and with the fifth builder hut use the rest of the gems except for 2000 to upgrade your walls. Use the rest for your heroes. You don't have to do all of this but I would for sure recommend upgrading wiz tower as they 1 shot lvl 6 archers and 2 shot lvl 6 archers (lvl 6 2 shots lvl 6 archers and 3 shots lvl 6 barbs) and as a BARCH user, this is truly devastating. If you aren't active then I recommend wiz towers and some of their suggestions.

I 1000x agree. I hate to admit it, but I've gemmed the build up times whenever they don't sync with my schedule. I prefer my projects to finish during weekends so that I know I will have the free time to farm for the next project but of course varying times to upgrade don't always work in my favor so... :|

I wanted to gem my research time, too but decided it was too expensive. Plus, I'll be TH9 for a very long time so why rush? The time will definitely come when I have nothing to research while I'm still upgrading walls and heroes (at this point, I will probably just go to TH10).

with 8500 youd have like a year supply of boosted barracks, that would be so swag having full armies in 5 minutes

i would spend them all for upgrading hero :)

Just boost boost boost boost and more boosting. If you gem upgrades only gem when you have enough loot for the next upgrade

Well, I don't know about it being "so swag", and it definitely wouldn't be for a whole year, but I agree with this advice :). Put all of your gems into barracks and spell factory boosts. Boost hero recovery times too if you need them. You'll spend more time working for the loot, but you'll get so much more out of the gems that way.

It would be about 60 days to gem barracks 24/7 with exactly 8,400 gems. Since you probably won't be playing 24/7, I believe it would be more like 120 days if you play about 12 hours a day.

If you also gem spell factories or whatnot, I believe it would go back down to 60 days, and with heroes, go down even more (30?). Usually, I don't use heroes or spells that often (unless trophy hunting), so you got 4 months of barracks boosting if you like. Best use of gems in my opinion ;)

I'd save all the gems in case Supercell adds a new feature or something, because I don't think boosting mines/barracks is very useful. Of course, I'm only Town Hall 7, so you can probably find better advice.

hmm boosting seems to be a common suggestion here. I often cant play the game for endless hours though. I usually can only raid once an hour or so. Its tough for me to play COC for an hour straight.

Dont buy resources, just boost your barracks and spell factory you will earn more

i agree! this is a good answer.

I would just get the 5th builder and save the gems for when I push. There's no point in spending money to start upgrades, but maybe just to finish them. Don't gem your resources also cause it's just a huge waste.

about 4 to 5 people have posted to get the 5th builder, Im guessing no one read the first page where I stated I have all 5 builders.

Oh yes definitely only use the gem for boosting barracks/spell factory, and not for resources/time. That said, you will definitely at times and again find a need to gem to finish up the last few hours of an upgrade, just because you have farmed all the resources needed for the next big upgrade and you are about to go sleep/holiday/etc etc.

So, don't see it like there's a lot of gems there. Use them wisely and they should serve you VERY well for at least half a year or so :)

1. buy builders
2. buy queen's time
3. buy lab's time

continually farm enough dark for queen, put her to sleep, then use gems to get her up to farm dark, and repeat.
do NOT buy king's time. he's not as good as queen

Gem the queen thats what Im doing now

Get the baby heroes up before you touch another defense. Probably can get the AQ up close to 15 before you run out of gems for boosting/gemming her time. I'd make that the only priority with gems.

If you haven't even got your fifth hut I suggest buying that instantly. Save the rest of those gems for barracks boosting and level 15+ hero times.

just keep your de drills boosted....as long as your gems last

Snipe to champions while you still can and take advantage of the leaguebonus for farming DE. You will always have max DE.

You should finish all your DE research NOW. Forget about elixer research you can do that later.

Gem your hogs and start researching minions to max. If you care more about war then upgrade your Lavahound and Golems first.

In the next update TH sniping is impossible and you actually have to WORK for your DE. I'm not saying that's a good or bad thing I'm just saying it will be alot harder to acquire 100k DE to max your minions. That's why I recommend you to do all the DE research now. Gem the research time when you have enough DE to start the next one.

Keep 2 builders busy for your royals. Have them upgrading 24/7!

And last but not least keep 1 builder free to dump your resources into your walls.

You should do whatever you want but if you really care about your account you should take my advice :thumbsup:

PS: I wish I was in your situation... I'm sitting on max DE for 1 day now and every builder is busy.. wish I could gem some research time... =/
