Putting them (double giant bombs) behind defenses is the way to go if you can design it. That way they can't just drop a couple hogs to detonate/trigger the various gap traps.
A good hogger will simply release main body of hogs after clearing a spot and then front run the other shallow gaps with a hog or two before the bulk of the herd get there (or something similar) to avoid high casualty and keep things like spring traps to one or two hog flings.
This shows the CC was hard to lure but not much else unfortunately since the hogger couldn't even clear the CC. Carried lightning and rage too just noticing :P. And unusual troop composition with all those WB.
BTW I would hog it from upper right going at the mortar and Wiz T with two small clusters of hogs so they take out the Wiz T and mortar (the hogs on mortar only need a couple since the Wiz T would fire on the hogs headed at the Wiz T and mortar wouldn't be able to fire at the hogs at its feet). I'd put one hog down first to check for bomb/trap. This would probably clear two defenses and allow a gap to lure CC afterwards I'm guessing although just glancing at it.
The attacker didn't plan well IMO. I would like to see a good hogger in war hit it to see how they would attack it.

I've been using this base for clan war for week.....awesome...well, I've never been hog before after so many wars...they only air attack me....max 2 stars even with lvl4 drags and 3 freeze spell...

I'll try it out :) . I had the snakebox setup, but then I found out that it ain't a hybrid and I would have to stay farming with it. This might be the better solution :)
Ive been using your base forever. Hardly ever get attacked in clan wars and mostly get sniped in farm mode.
My question to you. Is there any changes you can think of for this new update coming in?

Well, i made the heroes one step inwards towards the core. But i feel defenses funelling is still important. Since most will be using Old skool Giants Healer (and not forgetting Val) combo instead of Hogs. Need to funnel the Giants too.
But seriously, i tried 4 Raids using Val, it just went through straight to the core lol. When paired with Giants, Healers, Val and Wizards...no funnel is stopping them.
Suddenly, normal base like Junliangs Diamond defender base and Cloud Wisky's base looks interesting again lol
Since my TH10 upgrade is in progress, I will only have one more clanwar with this base..thought I post a picture.
I edited it a little more. to be even stronger against Giant/BARCH (which used to be it's only weakness). SO there is an additional Tesla on the right and two WT instead of an AT and an AT. And the King is kind of on the right, while the queen is centralised.
It's kind of a white flag base, as ist gets easily one-starred with dragons if they come from the left. But it has never loast more than one star, although I often get up to three Mass Dragon attacks with level 4 dragons, heroes and all kinds of spells per clanwar.
No hogger has even tried several wars now.
Would love for somebody to GoWiWi or GoWiPe it, but it hasn't happened yet :(

Hey Kamikaze, on the farming base, there is an archer tower (to the right of the spell factory) that (most likely by mistake) has been moved one space out from where The cannon was on the trophy base... is it moved out for a reason or is a mistake? Oh, and what clan are you in currently? Thnx
Hi Kamikaze, i have been using your anti hog farming base layout since I got into TH9.
Since the giant bomb anti-hog update, I keep getting all my gold storages destroyed by Archers-Barbarians rush, and Balloon-Minion easily. Can u recommend me a latest effective base layout?
Decent base, seen it in a lot of CWs. It's easy to 2 star from top with GoWiPe or GoWiWi, other wise it is anti everything else. Would rate 4.5/5

I actually still like the general concept. Changed a few things. Added a row to center to fit mortars, AD, Xboxes, DE, CC, TH. Does most things well, can't do everything perfect.
Still messing around with bomb and trap configurations.

i didnt read any of the other posts but isnt this base called the death core? and 4 hogs dropped parallel to the top/bottom AD and 3 lightning on one of the middle AD's would 2 star this base, even by a th8 attacker
If you havent noticed yet, I havent been answering to any posts on this thread anymore, for one reason: this base is no longer useful with the new update. Yes, its still a good base, but theres much more you can do now that you dont neccessarily need a hog ring. However, I dont seem to be capable of ignoring people like this guy, who stop by to drop an agressive comment with no purpose at all.
No, its not called the death core. I guess there are a ton of people saying they made this base, I dont really give a sh*t, they can claim whatever they want, only makes them look awful when peeps find out they've been lying. And if you think a TH8 (that is lv5 loons and lv4 minions if Im not mistaken) can 2* this base, I would love to see you do it yourself. No need to stop by and be an a$$hole, seriously, if you dont like the base, its fine, no offense taken, but take your anger somewhere else, its not appreciated here.

Can i just ask what it is specifically you don't like about this base and how come you feel it's no longer "needed"?
I'm looking at it, and very impressed with the def. logs.
The def logs are pre update. The base will work just as good, or even better, against hogs now. However, I feel like anti hog bases are no longer needed, as it is more important to defend against golem-based and air strategies (gowipe, gowiwi, loonions, mass drags, etc). So what I am doing now (and what I have done with my CW base) is make a normal base (with normal being what bases used to look like before the hogs started targeting defenses) and put double giant bombs somewhere between defenses. This way, I can have teslas, mortars, wiz towers, xbows and ADs all decently protected (unlike this base, for example), while the base is still hog-proof.
Is there any way to make a TH10 version of this? I just upgraded to 10 a few days ago and have been using this design for my last 2 months as TH9. I've 3 starred a few TH10s with hogs pre-update and do not want the same happening to me... Also, this base has served me well against GoWiPe.
kamikaze your wrong,the hog ring is still needed.hogs are still a problem if you dont have a hog ring,its a very good base.i dnt see myself using another base but the baconmaker,this base works well for giants and you can easily interchange your core with ADs if your getting revenged with loonion.what i like about this base is the funneling and how giants walk on the outer layer instead of trying to break walls.i recomand this base for anyone just starting on th9.good job on this base kamikaze;)

Can somebody post a screenshot of a good variation to crush ground troops? (giants mages barch). Usually my mortairs are destroyed in 0,1 secs because they are in first line.

I have been using this layout for months. I do have my gloomy days, especially towards aerial attacks combo of Balloons and Minions. Fare slightly inferior towards BARCHING too.
Works wonderfully towards hogger(needless to say) and Giant/Healer combo haha. Cant bear to change, unless a better and convincing one out there.
People still use hogs so having this base cant hurt right? It looks like it can handle giants as well.
Ive been using this base for months. Works a treat, but in clan wars it gets ♥♥♥♥ed up by gowiwi and gowipe fairly easy. Havent been hit with hogs for months. Theonekamikaze id be interested to see your new design? Im looking for something more suited to gowiwi and gowipe.

so i made a base that you posted in the request a base thread. i am nearly max th9 with 2000 cups. got hit with max th10 today with a giants healer army with some wiz and lvl 16 aq. got 25k gold 80k elixir.
How does this base stand up against giant with archers or wizards as backup? I have basically th8 defenses and level 7 walls
I've used this base for a few months now, and it still does me very well. It scares the ♥♥♥♥ outta attackers, especially in war. I have only been attacked several times during war, and it held up fairly well. High level GoWiWi got 2 stars outta me, but most of our wars, they never even try. :cool:

I used this base briefly due to it giving up two stars too often and very easily. Wasn't impressed.
I've used the farming version of this base and have been very happy with it. Anyone modify this for use as a TH10? If so, I'd love to see it. Nice work!
It was my turn to 'clean up' 2 bases on our last war that were not 3 starred from previous raids.
Unfortunately, this base was one of them that I 3 starred ---
Granted that some of the defences were not 'max' for th 9 ... nonetheless ....
1) Used 3 hogs on both sides to clear the ADs
2) Used 2 balloons to trigger the Air Mines and Air Bombs surrounding WTs (next to the destroyed ADs) and lured cc troops in the process.
3) Used 1 balloon to destroy AT
4) Deployed 1 balloon from 7 o'clock to destroy AT and drew cc troops there
5) Deployed 2 drags to destroy cc troops (deployed additional drag and 2 balloons)
6) Deployed the rest of balloons with 2 rage ... straight to the core ... as the defences ring were destroyed from 3:30 to 8:30
7) Deployed heroes last as no more defences left

As much as I love gowiwi or gowipe (or holowiwi) --- there are still some risks to not 3 starring this base (active bombs and traps, etc ... ) --- I decided that balloons/drags combo gave me the best tactical advantage.
This is a TH10 design created by myself. Of course you can switch some things.

A little overused now but still a great base!
I've used this base in ClanWar for quite sometime. Since I'm in one of the prime clans....Getting 2 star is pretty common as the rivals are very capable. Thats OK...since most of my mates bases also gets 2 star.
I've been 3 star a few times too, basically with max Drags or max Gowiwipe. The worst is most high lvl attacks use 2 Freeze spells and also freeze the troops and lightning strike it. So its best to have at least 1 valk in the CC.
So far this base is highly rated and among the best for me.

I'm using this base design, and everybody is getting 3stars with drakes...
They use trops to destroy the 2 anti aicraft at both sides, then 3 Thunder spells to destroy 1 in the center, and the 1 remaining does not have enough firepower to stop the drakes.... its VERY EASY to take down :(

Great base. Been using it for a week for war and farming. 2 wars and dozens of defended raids.
Farming-wise the base is excellent i added the 4th mortar to the middle so every resource is guarded by at least 2 mortars and 1 tesla + xbow and surounding cannons and arch towers, with only lv7 and lv8 walls it succesfully defended against lv6 giant wiz barches even hogs.
First attack in war was a bust i got 2 starred by lv 5 loons and lv 3 drags. but he only got 50 percent (lucky ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥)
considering my new defenses are not maxed yet its not a very big loss. it works well against gowipe and gowiwi.
giants simply dont have much to do except roam around and get dead.
definitly WOULD RECOMMEND base.

x bow is protected by 3 towers
air bombs are placed near to center to prevent ballonion (ballons will group together when they near to center, so air bombs can fry them together)
seeking air bombs are placed outside to kill angel (prevent giant angel combo)
things to improve:
-since this v3.0 i just created one day ago, so im thinking to place the spring between mortars and the tower next to it
-i think builder huts should be move to outside, to fill the gaps at outside
-center buildings are too close, enemy are sure that there is no spring there

I am seriously making a tremendous effort to let this thread die, but damn... I dont think I can say anything at all about this. Anyone with any sense of what was stated in the OP and/or common sense can tell that this ‘v3.0’ (dont know where the hell I can find v2.0, seems like it went from 1 to 3?) is not a good mod of my base in any way. Im not gonna bother explaining why, I got a good laugh out of your arguments so its all good :rolleyes:

Guys, I am a big lover of this solid base. OP could have retired from COC. Let me show you my 4 Mortars and 2 Mine sweeper versions. As the original base was designed back in Apr 2014, I did some modifications to it. Overall, awesome base that served me very well.
